The Global Packaging group of our Consumer business is looking for a Packaging Development Engineer on a permanent contract to be based in France, in Val-de-Reuil within our European R&D center. 

You will be working with the packaging of our Baby, Beauty and Consumer Health Care brands, listed below :

Neutrogena, Le Petit Marseillais, Aveeno, Listerine, Johnson’s Baby, Johnson’s Adult, Biafine, RoC, Clean&Clear, Piz Buin, Bebe, Carefree, Ob. 

This job will give you the possibility to strengthen your double-competency on technical expertise and project leadership in a Regional and Global environment.

The mission will cover the following tasks:
  • Develop a good knowledge of the consumer, market and packaging network.
  • Develop packaging (from primary to tertiary) in partnership with Marketing, R&D, Design group, Supply Chain, Procurement Group, Quality, Regulatory affairs and manufacturing facilities.
  • Be the technical interface with suppliers and Business partners.
  • Design packaging development & qualification plan following high quality and compliance standards and deliver projects
  • Ensure technical feasibility of identified solutions and successful implementation of qualification plans
  • Identify, evaluate, manage and communicate risks
  • Demonstrate strong proactivity for innovation and lead innovative projects
  • Participate in department process continuous improvement

  • You have a technical education and have one or the other of the following background (or equivalent):
    • - an engineer degree in mechanics/industrial design or polymer chemistry ideally completed by a packaging degree
    • - packaging engineer
  • You have a strong packaging culture and interest
  • You have minimum 2 years of experience in packaging development, ideally in consumer goods or pharmaceutical industry with a brand owner and/or with a packaging supplier.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You are curious and creative
  • You have leadership and solid communication and adaptability strengths that allow you to master complexity in an international context.
  • You like manage various projects in parallel and the variety of contacts it can drive.
  • You pay attention to details but also have a big picture orientation.
