Job purpose: 

The prime focus of the Technical Customer Support Specialist (TCSS) is to provide technical service in cultural and geographic proximity to customers in turn allowing J&J to offer professional and fast support to our customers.


Technical Customer Support Specialists are key for J&J to closely track performance of medical equipment, respond quickly to customer enquires and provide accurate feedback on system usage, performance and customer satisfaction.


As a Technical Customer Support Specialist (TCSS), your typical day may include:

  • Provide 1st line support to address local customer issues

  • Perform required safety checks, preventive maintenance and repair as per applicable legal requirements, MDD and in-line with J&J systems service policy

  • Implement compulsory, mandatory or performance related enhancements to the installed base

  • Delivery, installation and commissioning of J&J surgical equipment

  • Perform all work according to J&J’s Quality Management System, as well as maintaining and updating local market installed base list and device history

  • Actively drive the compliant process for J%J continuous product development

  • Management of parts trunk stock and maintenance of tool and test equipment

  • Takes care of key accounts in local markets and evaluates and communicates specific local market requirements

    Skills and Abilities:
  • Candidates with an Associate degree in (medical) electronics will be looked on favourably, however any electronic degree will be considered

  • Demonstrable background in the medical industry is required and candidates who have familiarity with ophthalmic or diagnostic equipment used in a surgery environment would be a distinct advantage

  • Candidates who speak a 2nd language, in addition to English is a distinct plus

  • J&J Field Service operates in a European network, occasional travel on short notice within EAM is required
