PRODUCT LINE BUSINESS ANALYST (Global Digital R&D)

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Full-time unlimited contract

 

Role overview:

Product Line Business Analyst drives initiatives for Johnson & Johnson´s Consumer R&D organization CoBIC – the technology part.  The key focus is on translating business needs into buildable components while delivering strategic and innovative solutions to the business. This is a position with global focus and will be based in Warsaw with up to 10% domestic and international travel.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Business Requirements (User Story) Management & Development
    • Utilize effective business analyst techniques to translate what business may want into identification of what is needed via the good use of elicitation techniques
    • Leverage different approaches to ensure complete understanding by downstream stakeholders including user stories, visualization, and business flow mapping artifacts within the SDLC
    • Document confirmed business processes to serve as a reference for development and support
    • Explain to business product owner how requirements may be implemented from a functional standpoint
    • Apply compliance requirements within scope of responsibility, provide documentation, and participate in compliance activities as required
  • Business interface
    • Apply Design Thinking principles including context diagrams and opportunity maps to ensure all internal and external stakeholders, and especially end users, are fully indentified
    • May be system agnostic but is able to quickly learn key aspects of systems by utilizing human contextual inquiry and design thinking methods; may specialize as system understanding deepens
    • Ensures continuous backlog of 2-3 sprints of work to stay ahead of agile scrum teams and ensure each feature level deliverable is aligned to a definition of readiness to enter a sprint
    • Document UAT and assist testers as required to ensure DoD requirements are satisfied
    • Write/Manage/Clarify user stories and develop use cases for complex requirements
    • Impact Analysis of new releases/changes, training, maintaining system FAQ, etc.
  • Partner closely with Business Technology Leaders and Solution Leads to understand scope of problems that are identified in opportunity maps, and partner with technology leads in Technical Services to ensure development work identified to provide solutions is understood
  • Own and maintain a rolling 18-month product roadmap for respective product space
  • Reports on work within own workstream, including backlog status and release progress
  • Maintain solid business understanding of entire application landscape, acting as the DRI for business and technical aspects of the application
  • Track and understand costs related to a given application
  • Partner with business owner to ensure SLA’s are met
  • Overall accountability for executing against application lifecycle management plans for each application within scope
  • Review and approve changes to applications
  • Provide coaching/guidance to peers, junior team members, co-ops and/or consultants.
  • CMDB Management of respective applications according to SACM standards
    • Consistently demonstrate knowledge seeking and sharing behaviors across IT organizational boundaries in the performance of daily work and encourage junior associates to do the same
    • Apply principles, concepts, and practices of the J&J Leadership Imperatives
    • Ensure that J&J information assets are appropriately identified and valued and are protected by complying with and enforcing all local and worldwide security policies
    • Ensure that security is considered and emphasized in all IT plans and actions

Qualifications

Core competencies required for this role:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of IT experience is required
  • Hands-on experience supporting R&D groups is preferred
  • Hands-on disciplined project management skills are preferred
  • Experience operating within an agile scrum team is required
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following Cloud / SaaS / Mobile models is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following webMethods / IMDG / BPM is required
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: cloud native architectures / containerization / microservices / API Management is required
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Kubernetes / Chef / Docker / AWS is required
  • Hands-on experience with responsive UI technologies (HTML5 / AngularJS) is preferred
  • Experience with Design Thinking methodologies and Human Contextual Design Research highly preferred
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of core application development principles and J&J SDLC methodology is preferred 
  • Experience implementing global process/systems is preferred  
  • Fluent in English
