Senior Associate Scientist based in Dietikon/ZH
The Senior Associate Scientist will be part of a team, that is assessing new modalities in the field of therapeutic protein engineering and gene editing technologies. Further responsibilities and duties a
- As part of this team you will work on the generation of candidate protein molecules and assess their activity in in vitro assays.
- You will be responsible for the planning, execution and documentation of experiments as well as data analysis and interpretation
- You will present research findings and data to the group; interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Further, you will take an active role in implementing novel assays and technologies in the lab
Qualifications
- Master degree in a life science discipline (biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or similar)
- A minimum of 3 years pharmaceutical industry experience or a PhD degree with relevant experience
- Strong scientific background and hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Protein Engineering (library generation and screening, protein characterization)
- Gene Editing Technology (CRISPR/Cas, TALENs, Zink-finger nucleases or similar)
- Next Generation Sequencing and Sequence Analysis
- Hands-on experience with molecular cloning techniques is required
- Experience with mammalian cell culture is desirable
- Experience with in vitro drug activity assays is a plus
- Efficient, accurate and independent working style
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
