Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a Johnson & Johnson Company, is hiring a full-time Associate Scientist II position in the Immunology – Discovery group and will be located in Spring House, PA.

The Associate Scientist II will be a member of a highly matrixed research organization focused on discovering and developing new therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.  Primary technical responsibilities include performing primary and cell line-based assays for the evaluation of candidate compounds and mechanistic immune signaling studies.  Isolation and culture of primary immune cells from human blood and mouse tissues including ex vivo analysis of tissues from patients and preclinical animal models is required.  Experience with immune phenotyping using multi-color flow cytometry and lenti viral transductions is preferred.  


The candidate should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a highly matrixed team and should possess excellent communication skills.  A successful Associate Scientist II candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision to design and perform experiments, document results, and present data internally and externally.



Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant industry experience working in a research lab or a master’s degree with 1 year of relevant industry experience.  A background in immune mediated signaling is preferred.  


Technical expertise in developing, performing and trouble-shooting cell-based assays for compound screening and/or mechanistic signaling studies is required.  Experience with ELISA, MSD, Luminex, Western blot or WES analysis and real-time RT-PCR is required.  Proficiency in lenti-viral transduction and human and mouse immune cells is preferred. Experience using BD Diva & FlowJo software for multi-color flow cytometry analyses is preferred.
