Maintenance Coordinator

Principle duties and responsibilities:
Coordinate and distribute all work order requests. Ensure the organization and updating of work order files. Support maintenance technicians and engineers directly with work instructions, work order follow up, parts follow up, and status updates. Present appropriate materials to mechanics, technicians and engineers. Facilitate coordination of staff, associates, contractors and customers: communicate project clarification, priorities, and special instructions. Channel safety and hazardous materials complaints and requests to the proper staff.
The Coordinator Maintenance will coordinate all technical maintenance activities and technical activities related to projects. The main responsibilities will be to: reduce planned downtime by efficient planning and make sure the work is executed efficient. Further goal of maintenance team is to reduce uptime variability and addressing equipment reliability issues through the completion of preventative maintenance on production equipment; troubleshoot and repair equipment and instrumentation used in the manufacturing process. The skills necessary to perform the job of coordination is to have detailed understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic devices. Goal is to ensure efficient combination of technical activities on a safe and compliant way.
Part of the function is to improve supplier management of technical services and materials together with the procurement department to ensure adequate provision of parts and services.
The Coordinator Maintenance will thoroughly document work activities via a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), as well as completing various other computer-related tasks (i.e. time reporting, spare part retrieval, document management, on-line training). Work as part of a team of engineers and mechanics in support of a manufacturing operation.  Work in a Medical Device manufacturing environment with high regard for safety practices and systems.  Understand and comply with appropriate regulations.
Principal duties and responsibilities
  1. Coordinate shutdowns, planned maintenance, corrective maintenance and project execution when it comes to technical execution on systems and facilities, having impact on business continuity.
  2. Keep track of Administration (planning and priorities) on maintenance and repairs.
  3. Cooperate in implementing improvements in the manufacturing process.
  4. Support in the field of tool manufacture.
  5. Independently search and eliminate of faults to all applicable equipment and plants at Mentor.
  6. Independently carry out the breakdown service.
  7. Maintaining contacts with suppliers of the technical service.
  8. Create orders in ERP system.
  9. Create work orders in CMMS
  10. Create reports and metrics for management

  16. Support planning of maintenance and engineering team to maintain the equipment functional, in a good state and in a good level of safety.
  17. Incidentally carry out maintenance work (preventive, curative, calibration, and project).
  18. Participate in the installation and validation of new equipment.
  19. Work conjointly with manufacturing engineering and quality.
  20. Support each Business unit so that they can reach their objectives.
  21. Support the fulfilment of the FMEA to identify and put in place the correct level of maintenance/servicing of equipment.
  22. Identify the spare parts necessary for each piece of equipment.
  23. Define the at-risk EHS actions during maintenance work.
  24. Keep up-to-date the CMMS as well as the paper files of the attributed lines.
  25. Participate in the implementation of maintenance and calibration plans.
  26. Record all maintenance actions in the CMMS.
  27. Record the Service Request (SR) number on the BR when a maintenance intervention takes place during production.
  28. Monitor SR’s in Ticket system in CMMS for required actions, giving proper priorities as define in Type of Maintenance.
As Maintenance Shift Lead

  1. Carry out daily monitoring actions.
  2. Act as main contact person from Maintenance disturbances.
  3. Act as Alternative for Maintenance Supervisor in Production meetings.
  4. Feedbacks to Maintenance Supervisor and team of any escalations.
  5. Follow up and generate EHS&S incident reports as required
  1. Good communication skills, verbal as well as written
  2. Experience with medical environment will be appreciated
  3. Experience in Maintenance, Calibration or Manufacturing and/or Engineering working on manufacturing processes and improvements
  4. Understanding of process variability and process control
  5. Lean and/or Six Sigma would be a plus
  6. Resource prioritization                     
  7. Strong time and budget management skills
  8. Demonstrated experience in  the development and execution of action plans
  9. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of statistical software is required. Candidates who have experience using MiniTab are preferred.

Required Education:
  1. A minimum of a High School diploma, or equivalent required preferably a minimum of 2 years of college coursework in Engineering or a related technical discipline emphasizing electro-mechanical, Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) and/or pneumatics
  2. VCA (Full)
  3. NEN 3140
    Required Experience and Competences:
  4. A minimum of 4 years of maintenance and/or engineering experience is required. Medical Device industry experience is preferred. Working experience in a Medical regulated environment is preferred.
  5. Troubleshooting skills required.
  6. Mechanical skills required.
  7. Knowledge of machine controls, automated equipment, electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics required.  Knowledge of PLCs preferred.
  8. The ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings is required.
  9. The ability to use a variety of shop and hand tools to complete precision repairs and assembly tasks is preferred.
  10. Must have the ability to function in a team based in manufacturing environment and to work independently with minimal supervision.
  11. Experience in a manufacturing environment developing manufacturing standards.
  12. Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  13. Ability to prioritize multiple commitments and technical problem solving ability.
  14. Ability to shift priorities according to changes in department/facility needs and be open to different ideas/approaches.
  15. Advanced computer skills and use of software application(s). Strong computer background (MS Office, MS project Management, Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook, Minitab, Maximo)
  16. Relevant and proven experience in a similar function includes:

Work conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally is required to work in a regulated controlled manufacturing environment using company provided garments and safety equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee performs routine office and operations demands including computer operation. Routine office and operations including computer usage are required.
