The AsPac Regional Director position is a key role to support the expansion of our business through the utilization and/or development of a regional suppliers’ network for Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices. This person will be responsible for leading a Procurement organization of 5 - 30 resources in support of approximately $50MM - $100MM or more in spend for Johnson & Johnson Companies. This spend is highly complex in nature and requires a close collaboration with key stakeholders within the business to execute.


The Senior Director will:

  • Be responsible for leading a Procurement Supply Chain organization of up to 50 resources in support of approximately $100MM – $500MM+ or more in spend for Johnson & Johnson Companies. He/she will be responsible for 50 – 200+ global suppliers, including management of Johnson & Johnson’s most strategic partners.  The category and spend are highly complex in nature and require extensive interaction with key stakeholders, supplier’s leadership and other segment/functional leadership
  • Will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders with the purpose of providing leadership, communication and agility to the accelerated China business growth
  • Develop end-to-end category strategy for the region, maintaining key relationships within the business and managing key supplier relationships.  He/she will identify, develop and direct the implementation of Procurement goals and strategy, and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, and service and compliance adherence
  • This role owns strategic sourcing and supply integration responsibilities.   Accountable for ensuring organizational effectiveness in balancing these capabilities to maximize business value
  • This position is the main supply chain procurement point of contact for the AP Supply Chain Business leader for Medical Device and accountable to the EM operations established in China

He/She will also be responsible for:

  • Deploying strong management and processes through collaboration with supporting functions to develop a streamlined and balanced supply network capable of delivering established and new business needs
  • Delivering results from multiple external manufacturing sites; Financial, Service, quality and compliance, cost savings identification and analysis
  • Selection, technology transfer, and oversight of manufacturing and decommissioning of sites
  • Performing analysis such as comparative analysis, rationalization analysis and cost optimization identification analysis
  • Ensuring new products and product transfers, when sited at suppliers in the region, are on time and within budget
  • Identify, escalate and facilitate resolution of manufacturing supply chain issues that may adversely affect performance goals
  • Providing leadership and guidance to peers and colleagues responsible for delivering on Supply Chain Procurement business and performance goals
  • Interfacing with pertinent functional groups to conduct supply chain due diligence for regional products; Integration and deployment of business outcome
  • Defining, documenting and implementing business processes and procedures
  • Developing and guiding sourcing talent for the Region
  • Identifying opportunities and leading cross-functional projects to significantly improve the operational effectiveness of MD Suppliers such as new product introduction, business continuity planning, change control management, manufacturing process capability improvement, manufacturing and process robustness



  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in business, life sciences or related field, an advanced degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of business experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of people management experience
  • CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP, or other certification or relevant experience is strongly preferred
  • Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management, Category Management, Sourcing and Supplier Management required)
  • Multi-county and Multi sector experience preferred with experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses
  • Strong project and change management capabilities
  • High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
  • High level of credibility with internal customers and with the supplier community
  • Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain); has "presence"
  • This position is to be located preferably at Shanghai or Singapore sites
  • This position requires up to 50% travel both international and domestic Job Families for Job Profiles
