Job Purpose

  • Providing strategic and operational financial leadership in delivering the financial targets of the business (such as sales, GP, SGP, Opex, pricing, Smart Spend) and accurate, timely and insightful financial information to maximize business opportunities and result; 
  • Support business in monitoring adequate TPI’s stock management and ability to identify key drivers for growth and to focus management effort on those drivers, partner in driving strategic initiatives;
  • Directly responsible and accountable for the following aspects of Finance function:
  • Day-to-day Financial Management of the CSS Business in Spain (full P&L management);
  • Accurate and timely Financial Reporting to Regional Finance and Corporate and business Profitability analysis for CSS Spain;
  • Providing financial support to Strategic Capabilities department (VAS, KAM) and partnerting with internal and external stakeholders (local and internationally);
  • Work closely with Hospital Medical Devices FD on ensuring Finance objectives are met;
  • Provide internal control and financial guidance to the business ensuring compliance with Corporate procedures, business policies, reporting requirements and SOX;
  • Optimize finance processes / leverage from already live standardization projects;
  • Lead and participate Finance projects in the country and southern cluster and active involvement in divestitures or / and acquisitions of businesses.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

 

Day-to-day management of all the financial needs of the business in a manner that is both legally & J&J compliant.  Services include:

 

  • Sales and business analysis at various levels;

 

  • Accurate and timely EMEA and Corporate reporting; with no defectsDetailed review of gross and net margins at systems & local levelsCompare and explain variances - actual vs. budget sales, gross margins and Operating Expenses;

 

  • Preparation and presentation of bridging reports Support / partner with CSS leadership team in setting and achieving company objectives;

 

  • Proactive approach towards profit improvement plans, suggest and monitor optimal use of resources as well as analyze and control investments to insure highest returns with a ‘no surprises’ approach to managing the Income Statement with all costs matched to the appropriate accounting period;

 

  • Preparation and presentation of the monthly management accounts and monitorization of  Pricing and commercial discussions to ensure franchise price and discount policies take into account business model, profitability, FCPA, tax code and Antitrust requirements;

 

  • Assist in preparing business case for capital expenditure, product launches, investments in heads and collaboration with the business leaders to manage and report the company head count and associated costs;

 

  • Coordinate across functions business model adoption to changes in business, legislation requirements or new accounting treatment (such as new revenue recognition);

 

  • Regular attendance at and participation in local and international finance meetings / call and local franchise meetings / call when expected (travel required);

 

  • Value added Solutions financial partnering and team work with BS CoE Uk for FP&A processes.

 

 

Supporting / providing insights into Global Services department to enable:

 

  • Statutory audits and accounts filing.

 

 

Maintain and strengthen internal controls

 

  • Meet and continuously improve controls, in line with corporate requirements & guidelines;

 

  • Implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and insure adequate CIA internal controls in his / her area of responsibility.

Qualifications
Experience and Requirements
 
 
  • University degree and recognized accounting / finance qualification; further professional development a plus (MBA, CMA, CPA, ACCA)
  • + 3 year’s post qualification experience, experience at a similar level, or within a multinational environment or with J&J knowledge will be an advantage
  • A track record of driving constructive change should be evident
  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to work with and influence internal customers
  • Comfortable to challenge internal customers in a non confrontational way
  • Ability to analyze the financial data ensuring that it makes business sense
  • Proactive, self-starter and team player
  • Familiarity with Global Services environment
  • Highly computer literate, experience with Microsoft packages, SAP is an advantage,
  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English.
