Transform the Customer Experience - Janssen Supply Chain Market Strategy Development

  • Manages the Customer Focused Innovation (CFI) process for APAC markets ensuring periodic review and ongoing process improvements
  • Develops a deep understanding of the Regional APAC & Market Commercial strategies and tactics
  • Organizes and manages ideation and/or immersion sessions in the region to better understand customer needs
  • Integrates customer needs, local market and product inputs into JSC/JJSC Supply Chain strategy
  • Supports the development of the regional Supply Chain (SC) strategy aligned with commercial and customer needs
  • Supports the development SC tactics, action plans and value metrics for defined local strategy
  • Monitor and communicate progress of tactics to ensure business success (JSC leadership, Commercial leadership, JSC organization)
  • Partner with Office of Strategy and Execution to develop and validate local market and product reports linked to overall JSC Strategy

Shape the Portfolio - Operational Portfolio Management (OPM) & Portfolio Optimization

  • Manages the Operational Portfolio Management (OPM) system and process for the APAC region
  • Supports APAC in all Market Portfolio change request including New product SKU request, Delist SKU request, Localization request, and Market Introduction of Established Products
  • Is an active OPM council member, leading and partnering with cross functional stakeholders to drive portfolio changes
  • Provides ongoing governance and regular review of the OPM process
  • Performs periodic reviews of all market request in the APAC OPM site, ensuring follow up actions are completed
  • Provides OPM Process and System training / refresher training for all APAC markets as required
  • Reviews Portfolio Optimization Business cases and provides aggregated regional impact analysis and recommendations for APAC
  • Connects with Regional and Market Commercial stakeholders to provide Portfolio summary and collects feedback

Business Integration and Executive Communication

  • Serves as a Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) point of contact to the Commercial business on issues related to product supply
  • Engages in Commercial strategic/business planning process to understand strategic direction, forecast drivers, growth initiatives, risks and opportunities, and SC implications
  • Provides SC inputs to Commercial strategic/business planning process to enable business success
  • Develops and executes Balanced Scorecard process in partnership with Commercial
  • Fosters and develops relationships across JSC/Commercial to enable business success
  • Provides support to Commercial Leadership/Management Boards representing JSC
  • Serves as a voice to JSC to influence strategic and tactical response to commercial needs
    • Understands supply chain capabilities including cost of services to identify the correct innovative solution to respond quickly to customer needs
    • Uses Commercial Partner relationship to bring forward information on Customer requirements and supply chain solutions

Drive Issue Management Support & Communication for Multi Market issues

  • Is an active member of the Supply Chain Issue Management Team capturing and representing Commercial/Customer needs
  • Provides regional market intelligence to minimize any potential impacts from major Supply Chain issues
  • Supports regional Commercial communications resulting from issue management in coordination with Issue Management Leads (VSL, NPL) and Business Quality
  • Provides information in support of customer impact analysis, allocation planning, and communication planning

Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) Support and Executive Review

  • Actively participates in all aspects of S&OP process
  • Partners with S&OP Director in region on process enhancements and execution of regional/franchise executive review
  • Attends demand planning reviews and partners with Demand Managers to drive process and business performance (forecast accuracy, LIFR, stock outs, NTS/CD variance)
  • Review and challenge demand & sales performance understanding forecast drivers and risk / opportunities
  • Lead development and alignment of Balanced Scorecard with Commercial, ensuring integration with S&OP steps
  • Evaluate regional / franchise performance and manages necessary action planning
Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Serve as single point of contact to Commercial
  • Ensure appropriate and proactive communication of supply chain issues to Commercial leadership
  • Serve as the voice of the customer to Janssen Supply Chain to drive strategic and tactical improvements to Janssen business and our supply chain response
  • Provides leadership and contributes to the Sales and Operations Planning Process

Main Interfaces (interactions) & governance structure

  • Commercial support of issues related to strategic planning, business planning, demand forecasting and supply management.
  • Strategic and Business Planning process between Commercial/JSC to drive customer focused responses
  • Sales & Operations Planning to deliver forecast, scenario planning inputs, and issue management mitigation/resolution
  • Product Management Value Stream and New Product teams to address product availability and customer needs
  • Coordinate internal JSC groups to drive alignment around addressing customer requirements


This position is based in Asia Pacific, preferably based in Singapore.  The position requires approximately 25% regional and global travel.

  • Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Sciences required. Master’s Degree (MA/MS/MBA) highly desired.
  • A minimum of 5 years overall professional work experience in supply chain or relevant commercial experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written English competency required.
  • Must be able to assess situations with critical eye and translate that into supply chain solutions.
  • General working knowledge of standard MS Office software applications - Outlook, WORD, Excel
  • Good understanding of the principles of finance to include preparation of business case, Net Present Value assessment and development of Cost of Goods standards.
  • Working knowledge of the market to which the Regional Account Manager, Supply Chain is assigned.

  • People management skills that span the breadth of the organization from local logistic groups to commercial company boards
