The Bacterial Vaccines department focuses on the research and development of vaccines against infectious diseases. Within the Bacterial Vaccines department, the preclinical immunology group evaluates the immunogenicity and efficacy of potential vaccine candidates against infectious diseases in animal models. The main focus of the group is to conduct proof of concept studies and to generate appropriate scientific data that enable our vaccine candidates to progress towards clinical phase evaluation.
Job description:
We are looking for a motivated Associate Scientist that will be involved in studies to evaluate the immunogenicity and efficacy of vaccine candidates. The candidate will work mainly with immunological and microbiological techniques and will be responsible for the development and performance of assays, analysis of results and data reporting and presentation. Good skill in documentation, evaluating and reporting results are required.
Work will be performed under supervision of a Scientist. Work will be performed under BSL2 (vaccination may be required) with minimal day-to-day supervision.

  • Bachelor or Master degree (BSc/MSc) in a relevant discipline such as biology, life sciences, or related fields.
  • Previous experience working with microbiological and/or immunological methods (e.g. cell culture, bacterial culture, ELISA, flow cytometry, bactericidal and phagocytic assays, T cell assays and B cell ELISpot) is required.
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
The candidates fit for the job are open and communicative. They are a team player, flexible, and driven to produce work of the highest quality. They are capable of planning, organizing and executing their own work independently. Fluency in English, both verbally and written, is an absolute requirement.
