Role Purpose
Maximise Sales & Profit of Brand for the appropriate time in Brand’s Lifecycle by Communicating a
vision for the product that inspires both internal and external customers
Provide on-going marketing support in order to meet company targets and grow brand revenues.
Drive all marketing initiatives specific to the brand(s)

Key Role Activities
Develop Portfolio Strategic Plan
Where there is more than one brand in a therapeutic portfolio, develop, implement and
execute the portfolio strategic plan
Produce tactical business plan in collaboration with key stakeholders
Commission market research through external preferred market research provider
Analyse primary & secondary market research and business intelligence
Use appropriate tools and cross functional inputs to produce situational analysis
Use CRM tools to implement CRM strategy and capture and use market information
Communicate issues with key stakeholders via verbal and written communication and
business meetings
Brainstorm solutions and tactics
Define brand tactical objectives
Produce critical success factors
Contribute to building strategy by advising on current product trends
Define key tactics to achieve success
Determine targeting and segmentation strategies.
Present tactical plan to MX marketing group
Liaise with Product Development
Setting metrics and monitoring
Define brand metrics around specific marketing projects and monitor taking appropriate
action.
Optimally manage the marketing budget to avoid under/over spend and phase spend
effectively.
Analyse sales data to compare to forecast and adjust where necessary
Track market trends and propose appropriate actions to address issues
Input into monthly forecast review meetings to manage demand forecast
Coordinate implementation of tactical plan via direct and indirect channels:
Collaborate with PR company to establish and execute public relations strategies.
Brief agency to develop and review advertising campaigns.
Manage agency in conjunction with procurement to give best value for money
Develop and project manage sales and marketing materials, promotional materials and
marketing and communications campaigns by liaising with creative agencies/PR and
Promo material companies
Liaise with Med Affairs to ensure all marketing activities and materials comply with current
relevant guidelines
Plan marketing mix to optimise all available channels from budget and message
perspective identify and propose additional channel strategies and tactics
Sales Force Communication:
Produce a clear direction for the Brand by sharing strategic & tactical plans for the Brand
with Sales force & getting their buy in
Effective communication to sales and sales management via verbal and written
communication and business meetings
Contribute to product training and conferences as subject matter expert
Allocate promotional material to the Field Force and effectively manage inventory
Key Opinion Leader (KOL) development
Coordinate communication with customer/ KOL via cross dept teams
Develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders by visiting them in the field to drive
secondary care sales where not carried out by Medical Relations team
Sell-in the Janssen-Cilag offering & product offering
Identify and develop partnership programmes with KOLs, influence them to speak at
events.
Manage product and line extension launches.

Key Line Management Activities
• Regularly coach/mentor any direct reports to develop effective Performance Management
Partnerships at a frequency agreed between manager and line report/s
• Conduct regular informal Personal Development Plan Review meetings with all direct
reports to ascertain their development aspirations and training needs in line with Talent
Management process at a frequency agreed between manager and line report/s
• Conduct two formal Performance Management Partnership reviews with all direct reports
to discuss and set objectives, and supply ratings from end of year review to HRD by due
date
• Provide/resource training provision to meet development needs of line report/s
• Conduct recruitment interviews/assessments as required
• Check that all direct reports have completed required compliance training including HCC,
Drug Safety & product quality complaints within the guidelines set in the Foundation
Programme SOP for new starters and annually thereafter
• Share and discuss role profile with all new starters, job changers etc., and check
compliance with any SOP's related to the role.
If manager of managers, also:
• Regularly coach/mentor direct reports to develop effective Performance Management
Partnerships with their team/s

Key Compliance Requirements
Applicable to all roles
• Complete annual Drug Safety and HCC Awareness training
• Report Adverse Events and complaints in a timely way to Drug Safety according to current
Adverse Event Reporting guidelines/SOP and to maintain Regulatory compliance
• Acts in accordance with Johnson & Johnson HCC requirements if interacting with
Healthcare Professionals
• If commissioning contractors or third party organisations, put contracts in place and
provide training so that these individuals also act in accordance with Johnson & Johnson
HCC requirements when interacting with Healthcare Professionals and report adverse
events and complaints (as above).
