DELIVER supports all three sectors of Johnson & Johnson: Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer Products and DELIVER EMEA manages a complex network of Distribution centers (DC’s) and Customer Services centers across Europe, Middle East and Africa supporting multiple distribution channels to J&J broad range of customers. Since 2013 DELIVER has undertaken a complete review of its network and consolidated its footprint while driving best in class distribution operations and leveraging Third Party Logistic sourcing base.

 

The Regional Transportation organization of DELIVER focuses on the strategic and operational oversight of Regional Transportation to ensure reliable supply of local DCs and Hubs from Make, to maximize value to Johnson & Johnson.

Regional Transportation Manager – Consumer IBF

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Guidance, coordination and operational oversight of Regional in-bound Transportation Consumer Segment to ensure reliable and cost-efficient supply of local Affiliates DCs from Manufacturing Sites and Regional Hubs. The focus for this role will be the close collaboration and partnership with the different Segment Plan, Make, Deliver/GDx/RDx/QA and Trade Compliance/Regional D&T functions to strive for reliable day to day inbound operations in support of required service to the Customer

  • Drive value to Consumer EMEA through the optimized regional transportation flows for In Bound Freight from the Manufacturing sites to affiliates hubs and distributor DCs, as well as inter-affiliate stock moves within EMEA region.
  • Build, manage and optimize Consumer IBF Transportation budget: deliver on CIP targets through operational improvements whiles ensuring service, quality, reliability and compliance. Lead regular reviews with Finance, Consumer Segment Deliver Lead and other relevant stakeholders,
  • Partner with Consumer Plan and Make to translate their inventory strategy and business requirements into the new innovative transportation solutions, establishes effective processes to support and drive E2E processes from Make to Affiliate Hubs / DCs
  • Represent IBF Transportation in E2E Consumer Supply Chain forums and projects, drive E2E process alignments and Trade-offs. Provide input to Consumer Executive S&OP through Segment Deliver Lead
  • Collaborate with other Deliver functions (Segment Deliver, D&T Operations, GDEx/RDEx, Quality, Safety and Compliance)
  • Manage relationships with 3PL / 4PL (Control Towers) via metrics and by providing them strategic directions and guidance, as well as driving continuous improvements
  • Ensure all regional transportation processes and programs are aligned with the corporate vision, strategy, standards and international legislations
  • Proactively surfaces and resolves key issues with a sense of urgency, demonstrates continuous improvement including transportation lanes, resource management, leveraged value
  • Build, manage and develop a high performing team of experts for Consumer IBF, collaboration within matrix organizations and managing without direct authority
  • Drive a culture of Safety & Compliance
  • Deliver: Segment Deliver: Alignment with Regional Segment Deliver Lead on segment priorities
  • Make: Actively manages interface with Make to optimize product flows
  • Plan: Actively engaged with Demand & Supply Planning for transport capacity planning, reliability and adherence to SLAs
  • GDx/RDx:  Assess operational maturity and define and execute continuous improvement priorities
  • Compliance: Jointly focus on creating competitive advantage through quality and compliance
  • Regional Distribution: Actively manages interface with Distribution operations to optimize product flows E2E
  • Finance / QA / Security
  • Focuse:  Enabling execution of reliable day to day operations, ensuring reliability, speed, quality and compliance
  • KPIs: Transportation cost, cost to serve, (in-transit) inventory, transportation reliability


Qualifications


Degree: University degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Business

Languages: Fluent in English, other European languages is a plus

  • Minimum 5 years in E2E Supply chain related disciplines, good understanding of order-to-cash process
  • Subject Matter Expertise across core Transportation, Planning and Carrier /3PL-4PL management, knowledge of import / export processes and systems
  • Experience in managing complex operations across EMEA, working in a regional function and matrix organization. Ability to provide leadership in complex and challenging situations. High degree of independent judgement & decision making
  • E2E mindset and collaborative, influence-based leadership approach and stakeholder management internally and externally (Control Towers, 3PLs) with Customer focus
  • Innovative mindset with proven capability for problem solving, decision making, compliance orientation/GDP knowledge/quality mindset, business case development and trade-off alignment
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and build best practices in Operations efficiency with a focus on Transportation management to drive E2E value for Consumer EMEA
  • Strong financial acumen, budgeting and finance management skills
  • Results focused with proven track record of successfully delivering on key strategic initiatives
  • Process orientation and analytical mindset with experience in process flow analytics (Lean certification is a plus), excellent communication and presentation skills, also at senior level
  • Proven skills in building diverse, high performing teams embracing a culture of functional excellence, continuous improvement and E2E collaboration
