We are recruiting a Specialist, Communications & Public Affairs, to be based in Janssen Portugal. In this role you will have previously worked in Communication, Healthcare environment with experience in communications. You will responsible for the support, development, implementation and execution of communication and public affairs strategic and tactical plans for Janssen in Portugal. You will report to the Communications/Public Affairs Leader, Spain & Portugal
 
 
 
PURPOSE OF POSITION
 
  • Support, development and implementation of the external and internal communication strategies in alignment with the Group/Region/Country strategy.
     
  • Support, development and implementation of strategies and action plans that build and maximize employee engagement in the company´s business strategy, corporate responsibility and reputation.
     
  • Support, build and leverage relationships with media and other external stakeholders to grow the profile and reputation of Janssen in the Portugal.
     
  • Manage and promote digital channel use.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Essential Functions)

 

  • Promote and ensure stronger awareness, positive image and reputation of Janssen through support of effective and appropriate internal/external communication activities. 
  • Help execute TA communications plans in alignment with the business needs; leverage plans and materials provided by regional TA Communication & Public Affairs team.
  • Implement internal communication activities that secure Janssen employees’ strong buy-in and support for the company’s goals while raising the level of pride and loyalty to Janssen. 
  • Participates in internal and external projects with strong focus on communications planning, development and implementation.
  • Develops and write stories for internal communications channels.
  • Support efforts to educate and influence key society stakeholders (regulators, payers, NGOs, press advocacy groups…) on Janssen business and challenges and on its contribution to the economy and society.
  • Support media relations activities that align to the business and corporate needs, schedules and guidelines. Help implement measurement approaches.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining a good image and exhibits skill in interacting with media.
  • Monitors and measures the impact and quality of external and internal communication.
  • Coordinates internal and external network of contact to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing of communications activities.
  • Maintains database media and communications activities.
  • Demonstrates understanding of J&J and Janssen local operating company´s strategy and business model.
  • Demonstrate basic skills in leveraging emerging technologies to advance communication.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
 
  • Education and/or additional training: BA required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Communication or journalism school can be a plus
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in communication
  • Fluency in English
  • Key problem-solving skill in developing communication strategies and actions. 
  • High degree of independent judgment and decision making.
