Compliance Manager - BU Southeast Asia

The Compliance Manager is responsible for driving the SOX Program and Compliance Management activities of the business units within Southeast Asia countries, and management of the Compliance team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Compliance Management

  • Ensure processes, operations, systems, databases and information security are up to date and comply with proper accounting and legal principles/policies/procedures
  • Perform reviews and ensure Quality Control Manuals (QCMs) have been updated to reflect any changes in compliance requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve and achieve sustainable compliance in finance operations and reporting
  • Facilitate and coordinate audit efforts as required with auditors and legal authorities with the execution of required activities – ensure staff and information are available as required
  • Ensure business process documentation and SOPs (standard operation procedures) are up-to-date and compliant 
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to resolve and prioritize issues / initiatives related to compliance

2. People Management

  • Develop and manage Compliance team goals, work schedules and activities, back up procedures and staffing requirements to ensure coverage at all times
  • Set performance objectives, and monitor and evaluate team performance on a regular basis to ensure that service levels and targets as defined in Service Level Agreements are met; and take corrective action when required
  • Ensure team members have the appropriate skills, supporting tools and technologies to enable them to deliver excellent customer service
  • Provide leadership, coaching, counseling, training and guidance to team so they can proactively carry out their role to the highest possible standard

•Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy; Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
•Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) desirable
•Experience in SOX testing and documentation procedures required
•At least 5-7 years experience in service support function with comprehensive understanding of compliance and control
•At least 3-5 years in a management and/or supervisory role
•Experience working in financial shared services desired; regional or multi-country exposure an advantage
•Excellent communication skills; proven effective presentation skills
•Strong team working and relationship building skills
