Part I – Position Description Summary

The Consumer EAME Centre of Excellence has responsibility for providing accounting services, business analytics and reporting for Finance colleagues in 37 countries across the Consumer EAME region. Johnson & Johnson Consumer EAME has sales of over $ 4 bn and sells approximately 100 different brands.

• This is a crucial role within the CoE to lead the General Accounting function, responsible for 40 affiliates (MRCs) across the EAME region.
• Key to this role is ensuring that the financial statements for all markets are accurate and compliant in line with Johnson & Johnson guidelines
• Being able to lead a team and forging strong networks/partnerships are crucial to success in this role

Part II - Key Responsibilities

Process responsibilities:
• Responsibilities in this role are broad, but in summary involve leading a motivated team to ensure accuracy and compliance of specific areas of the financial statements. The areas covered are complex in nature and require process expertise, in depth knowledge of WWP and detailed understanding of each area. Areas include:
o Payroll accounting & other employee related transactions
o Share based compensation,
o Retained Earnings & Equity Clearing
o Fixed Assets & Royalties,
o Intercompany compliance and Non-Inventory Recharges,
o Other income/expense,
o Ad-hoc projects
• Proactive partnering with Cluster Finance (Reporting) team and finance colleagues in the local entities: provide support, advice and visibility
• Identify and implement continuous improvement and standardisation of the above processes to improve efficiencies and offshore activities.
People Management:
• Recruit, lead, motivate and develop the CoE General Accounting team
• 3 direct reports (3 Analysts in General Accounting team with specific responsibilities for the areas mentioned above) and 5 indirect
• Talent development and the ability to motivate and drive a team
• Contribute to CoE initiatives on people development and employee satisfaction
• Coaching and mentoring of team members

Compliance Statement:
• Ensure strong internal controls are in place, in order to achieve “adequate” internal and external audit ratings.
• Accurate and timely month-end reporting. Meet all corporate and regional deadlines.

Scope of Role:
• This role is a key member of the COE management structure, so applicants must be collaborative in style, open to change and always seeking to improve the way things are achieved. The scope will touch on all areas of the financial statements across 40 affiliates, so this is a high profile, broad based opportunity for the right candidate



• Fully qualified accountant or an international qualified accountant equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years post qualified financial experience

• English essential
• Other European languages desirable

Experience Required:

• Proven track record of managing a team
• Strong technical accounting background
• Knowledge of SAP, Excel, and ideally J&J systems
• Ideally familiar with Johnson & Johnson worldwide procedures and practises.
