Our Medical Devices business segment produces a broad range of innovative products and solutions used primarily by health care professionals in the fields of orthopedics, neurological disease, vision care, infection prevention, cardiovascular disease, and aesthetics.

Position Description

The Strategic Solutions Manager is responsible for designing and developing new solutions and supporting Strategic Account Managers in deploying existing solutions by aligning J&J’s internal strategies with external customers and by ensuring that solutions are offered in the right way to the right customers and with the right methodology

Major Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure that all solutions are implemented with responsibility and following business ethics, compliance and legal principles
• Shape the industry by driving continuous innovation and developing solutions that are effective, scalable and provide impactful transformation for business growth and patients’ lives
• Work with the Strategic Account Management Director and the Regional Strategic Solutions Director to develop a project plan for a specific region aligned with specific strategies
• Take the leadership role in the new solution development process and obtain management support for recommendations
• Develop good relationships with different partners to establish a working network to exchange information, learn what is going on, and test for ideas
• Collaborate with colleagues and use current and emerging customer insights to build a more effective long-term solutions and stakeholder alignment strategy
• Influence short-and longer-term strategic planning decisions to optimize business opportunities
• Identify and analyze Healthcare trends and other market factors
• Define and communicate where there is synergy among Business Units and Strategic Accounts for solutions
• Calculate along with the Strategic Account Manager the resources that projects will need (financial, people, time, etc.)
• Work to anticipate obstacles or problems that can inhibit project timeline achievement and identify alternative courses of action for the more plausible scenarios
• Develop effective communication messaging to shape customer perceptions and communicate with members of Business Units leadership, customers’ C-suite and J&J leadership

Required Experience

• Proven experience in project management and deployment in consulting companies and / or project areas in the industry, preferably with some type of certification (e.g.: Green / Black belt, PMO, etc.)
• Competencies in solution and business development, customer insights and analytics
• Business and financial acumen
• Strong communication skills
• Influencing, negotiation, and partnering skills within a matrix environment
• Hands-on and entrepreneurial attitude
• Strategic, critic and innovative thinking
• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Desirable, but not mandatory, experience in Healthcare
• Desirable, but not mandatory, experience in Strategic Account Management
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role

Required Education

• BS in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or similar
• MBA or equivalent degree from Top Business Schools
