The Execution Systems team is accountable for level 1,2 and 3 automated systems (PLC, Scada, MES and data historian) within the Leiden production facility, focused on implementing a standard recipe based product management processes across all the sectors in Johnson & Johnson. This will deliver the following:
  • Consistent content management 
  • Optimized execution end to end
  • Proactive visualization
The Execution Systems Senior Manager will report to the site MAM (Make Asset Management) Director. The Senior Manager will lead a team of site engineers across manufacturing. This position will directly contribute to the development of business and/or functional strategies and capabilities, on site and platform levels, and serve as a liaison and single point of contact for peers within ES as well as across function within the site. Execution Systems Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring that the ISA-95 level 1, 2 and 3 systems and associated operation are in compliance and fit for intended use in accordance with applicable standards and procedures throughout systems lifecycle.   The role is also responsible for day-to-day operations management of ISA-95 level 1, 2 and 3 systems and ensuring system availability as per business requirements, as well as owning the site roadmap execution, including oversight of campus or regional set-up as applicable.  The focus of this position will be on maintaining content and recipe libraries; identifying business needs to support ES, establishing ES-scope ISA-95 level 2 and 3 system roadmaps and delivery for the site.  Under the MAM Lead’s leadership, the Execution Systems Senior Manager will be responsible for the execution of standards and delivery of business results on site.

Qualifications
Main Business Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Provides site leadership, including obtaining agreement on site ES project definitions and priorities, and ensuring that resources, capabilities and processes are in place.
  • Ensures ES programs stay on plan by resolving resource conflicts and removing obstacles, which may involve negotiations at a senior level.
  • Establishes effective working relationships and develops new partnerships with PDMS, Quality, IT, Lab Systems and others to optimize methodology.
  • Develops a mechanism to proactively assess business needs and identify points of leverage across sites. 
Main Technical Business Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Provides support for investigations (Events / CAPA's) and regulatory inspections
  • Site compliance and adherence with global/ platform standards
  • Manages ES related vendor contracts, project management and execution.
  • Overseeing the creation of Functional Specification and Design Specification, Module testing, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) as well as conducting Integration testing (IQ) and Functional testing (OQ)
  • Provides feedback to Platform leads about site needs and priorities related to execution systems activities.

  • Motivates and inspires site team to drive significantly increased performance through technical innovation and change.  Provides leadership and development to the team and ensures there is a diverse pipeline of high performing multi-skilled leaders of the future.

Minimum Requirements:
 
  • The minimum education required for the position is a Bachelor degree in Science, Engineering, or any other related technical major. 
  • At least eight (8) years of overall business experience in the regulated manufacturing industry.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of Execution Systems/Automation experience supporting different business owners, relationships, vendors and contractors.  Preferred experience in roles demonstrating increased leadership assignments and responsibilities. 
  • General experience in Pharma, Manufacturing and Supply Chain systems and strategies is required. 
  • Experience managing people is required, equivalent experience aligning people behind common goals in a changing environment will also be considered. 
  • Knowledge of industry standard, guideline and methodologies (NIST , ISA 88/95/99, GAMP) required.
  • Understanding of production process management is required. Understanding of the business drivers within the site and platform and ability to translate them into measurable objectives for strategic programs is required.
  • Demonstrated results leading, coaching and managing change that serves to motivate and inspire a highly engaged workforce to significantly improve performance, achieve stretch goals and solve problems. 
  • Must have a proven track record of developing technical talent. 
  • Experience in project management and Lean / Six Sigma methodologies preferred. 
  • Experience in Automation/Integration is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Flexibility to travel up to ten percent (10%) of the time is required.  Good communication, organizational, interpersonal and influencing skills.
