LifeScan Scotland was created in 2001 when Johnson & Johnson acquired the UK assets of Inverness Medical Ltd, a medical device company established in Inverness in 1995 to design and manufacture glucose test strips, and design electronic meters for the global diabetes market.
With a focus on future development, LifeScan is committed to “creating a world without limits for people with diabetes.” Around 1,000 people are employed at the Inverness site, which is regarded as Johnson & Johnson’s centre of excellence for diabetes and self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG).
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer. It’s exciting times here at LifeScan so this is a great opportunity to join our complaint management team and shape the future way of working.
What you’re great at:
The Complaint Management team is a key team in the Customer Quality Organisation. You will work within this team to deliver the organisation’s system level review of complaint trends and flag any signals identified. You will operate with a continuous improvement mindset throughout the process.
You will work in partnership to ensure flawless delivery and sharing of knowledge. A strong part of this role is for you to be a Change Agent - the upcoming potential divestiture activities and software changes will need you to lead and guide the team through this transformation period.
As a Senior Quality Engineer your typical day may include:
• Line Management of Complaint Management Team
• SME for Complaint Management in audit
• Working in a team to maintain complaint metrics and compliance
• Contributes to cross-functional and inter-functional projects
• Participates in New Product teams
• Participates in and may lead improvements to systems
• Proactive mindset/approach to issue identification, signal detection, and problem resolution

Ideally you will be degree qualified with demonstrated experience within complaint management process.
• Sense of urgency
• Good Leadership skills
• Good communication skills
• Good technical writing skills
• Knowledge of ISO 13485: 2016
• Knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages: i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint
• Statistical knowledge is advantageous but not essential
• Use of packages such as SAS, R Studio etc is advantageous but not essential
