Industrialization Engineer Robotic-Assisted Surgery M/F

Orthotaxy, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Industrialization Engineer, Robotic-Assisted Surgery to be located in Grenoble, France.
Orthotaxy has just joined the companies of Johnson & Johnson. The robotic platform developed by Orthotaxy is focused on total and partial knee replacement, but the plan is to broaden its application to a range of orthopaedic surgical procedures. Orthotaxy will offer the next-generation robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery solution.
The Industrialization Engineer will report to the Engineering and Technical Operations Leader. In a small team of mechanical and electrical engineers, the Industrialization Engineer will collaborate with team members to design/engineer new electro-mechanical surgical devices to facilitate the manufacturing process in order to reduce its manufacturing costs.
In addition, the Industrialization Engineer, Robotic assisted surgery will:
•Write documentation in English.
•Guarantee the compliance with the company’s rules.
•Collaborate with various cross-functional team members (electrical, mechanical, research, regulatory, quality, marketing, clinical, manufacturing, etc.) from initial product concept thru final product launch.
•Develop/implement and document system requirements.
•Design optimized parts/assemblies from existing prototypes with the most appropriate raw materials, dimensional tolerances, manufacturing processes, secondary processes, with an optimized cost. Focus on part standardization. Optimize maintenance of such complex electro-mechanical surgical devices in the earliest design phases. Integrate the work of multiple technical disciplines and technologies.
•Perform detailed costing studies on parts. Assist Supply Chain Management in make or buy decisions and other strategic procurement activities.
•Perform manufacturing process analysis. Provide technical leadership and guidance within the development team.
•Resolve and provide guidance to technical issues for products in manufacturing.
•Coordinate technology transfer to manufacturing operations. Help execute Engineering Change Requests and participate to resolution efforts. Assess and review materials requirements and specifications and provide technical direction or consultation. Seek innovative materials/processes that improve reliability, performance and reduce costs.
•Support V&V tests protocol generation. Define common manufacturing checks related to Design to Manufacturing.
•Prepare assembly and other technical work instructions.
•Execute engineering studies to test early concepts, participate to prototyping activities.
•Drive innovation of product improvements or next generation products.
•Realize technology watches to help the team to keep moving forward.
•Demonstrate superb oral and written communication skills, collaborating as part of a team, working seamlessly with team members across various global locations.
•Integrating of subsystems in accordance with program requirements.
•Enthusiastically resolve and lead other resources as necessary to perform systems engineering activities while minimizing impact to the program.
•Work with technical leadership within traditional systems engineering functions by providing active technical engagement within requirements, capture, decomposition, trace management, verification, validation, risk management, issue tracking and others.
•The candidate must have demonstrated collaboration and communication skills in both team and management review environments. He/she must be able to effectively navigate in a new organization under construction and leverage relationships with key business stakeholders to deliver tangible results, communicate needs and issues to drive patient-focused solutions. To ensure timely execution of project objectives, the candidate must have strong problem-solving skills and initiative and the ability to provide efficient escalation of issues to the appropriate accountable party.
•The candidate must have demonstrated successful experience in a multi-cultural global environment. The candidate must have strong data analysis skills and capability to provide clear presentation of data.
•Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Mechanical, Micromechanical, or Industrial Engineering. More than 15 years experience in engineering environment. Strong mechanical and electromechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Proficiency and working knowledge in MS Office tools. Self-starter and result-driven character.
•High level proficiency in Solidworks, or similar
•Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, milling, welding, etc.) and post-processing (anodization, polishing, etc.).
•First experience in Design to Manufacturing of robotic systems.
•Knowledge in Design to Manufacturing practices.
