Business Manager
 
The Business Manager is responsible for leading the sales function in assigned Country/Territory to develop & implement a sustainable strategy and tactical roadmap for growth; build lasting and favourable customer relationships; manage the business within agreed financial, HR and logistical targets; and ultimately deliver/exceed agreed forecast budget and Business Plan.
 
SCOPE: Communicate Vision and direction for Sales team and ensure it is understood.
  • Identify both opportunities and business at risk
  • Conduct regular Business reviews as a basis for challenging and improving both short and long term strategies and action plans.
  • Competitor activity analysis & strategy formulation
  • Develop service initiatives supported by internal business specialists, which result in containment and/or drive down joint supply costs for Customers
  • Determine and manage compliance issues on supply contracts
  • Contribute to completion of special projects
 
Responsibilities:
 
Increase sales growth, profitability and market share for existing and potential customers through leadership of Sales divisions. Implement business strategies through Accounts Managers, Sales Supervisors and Sales Executives to achieve agreed business outcomes in the assigned region.
  • To deliver a better health outcome for customers and patients. Communicate Vision and direction to Sales team and ensure it is understood.

Management of a range of internal business processes including developing marketing plans with the marketing team, aligning sales division to marketing plans, supporting inventory management, forecasting and facilitating internal division work.
  • Cooperate with LS managers on development of Marketing Plans with the Marketing team and Strategic Plans for the country to deliver long term growth
  • Communicate and align sales results to marketing plans
  • Use internal specialists (Key Accounts Managers/marketing team) and own working knowledge of business as a basis for identifying opportunities for business innovation
  • Actively keep others informed to support effective decision making and actions across organization
  • Oversee forecasting and planning work by marketing to ensure optimal inventory levels
Facilitate and provide coaching and direction in the development of each Sales member through on the job learning, training/education and/or focused project work. Create an environment built on teamwork within sales, across marketing and support departments leading to improved division and Company performance, job satisfaction and retention through people development.
  • Develop and manage the implementation of a Sales Development Plan
  • Ensure compliance with performance management process for both self & team
  • Complete Half yearly Performance Reviews for all direct reports by appointed time
  • Introduce individual Development Plans for each direct report both as an outcome from Performance Reviews and for new employees
  • Have an appropriate Succession Plan in place which ensures a supply of talent to the sales & technical support roles
  • Develop strong teamwork, cooperation and loyalty to the organization as a whole, through effective leadership
  • Routinely co-travel with sales & product support team on customer visits
  • Develop team members to build confidence and empowerment in dealing with customer issues
  • Establish clearly defined boundaries for resolving issues where required
  • Use "Integrity Selling" as a common platform for selling skills, with all division staff competent in process
  • Use effective interviewing and hiring skills (eg.Targeted Selection) to ensure high caliber recruitment
  • Have a Personal Development Plan and demonstrate responsibility and commitment to self-development.
Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and the country through management of relationships, product support and service.
  • Research and identify general Customer critical success factors as a basis for identifying innovative sales, support and service opportunities which deliver improved
  • Customer business performance and health care outcomes
  • Build relationships and develop loyalty with senior customers and decision makers
  • Implement innovative Customer support services/tender arrangements which lead to long term favourable Customer relationships
  • Monitor Customer perceptions as a basis for feedback
  • Ensure compliance with the "Customer Complaints" procedure
  • Optimise use of company value added services to improve customer relationships
  • Ensure appropriate problem solving strategies are used by Sales & Support staff when dealing with product or service difficulties
  • Conduct routine and regular meetings with customers to monitor perceptions and build relationships
  • Manage customer complaints to ensure any issues are handled promptly, professionally and adequately addresses customer satisfaction issues

Qualifications
Experience and Key competencies & skills
  • Leadership Qualities is a key success factor.
  • Total Work Experience of 5 - 10 years in Sales & Marketing.
  • Managing a team of 5 persons or more.
  • Should have significant achievements in building a sales team.
  • Core Skills: Sales, Customer Relationship Management, People Management, Strategic thinking. Service minded is a must
  • Other Skills: Good appreciation of the technical nuances associated with Diagnostics ie Application and Engineering Service. Deeply understanding Thailand Healthcare Market and having broad relationship with Key Decision Maker in hospitals, laboratories in Thailand.
  • Educational Qualifications: Graduation in Medical, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Engineering. MBA is an advantage
