We have an amazing opportunity for a Staff Design Engineer, reporting directly to the Director of R&D for Digital Orthopedics Surgery.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to progress their leadership journey within a technical field of experts. In this role, you will provide the expertise and knowledge to offer new digital platforms that will support our patients.

As a Staff Design Engineer, your typical day may include:
• Accountable for our critical digital orthopedic surgery program, and will work closely with our internal R&D Digital Platform team and with external development partners as well
• Opportunity to shape the R&D function and to help build critical new capabilities in Global Orthopedics
• Lead, design and implement project strategies
• Lead outside co-developers
• Lead and execute R&D projects
You will hold an engineering degree with experience of the design lifecycle. Ideally you will be from an orthopaedic background but we will consider other regulated industries.
You will also have:
• Track record in R&D delivering solutions with complex system components and architecture preferred
• Meaningful experience with all working elements in a cross functional landscape, following a product through the entire design cycle
• Breadth and depth of technical expertise around a multitude of enabling surgical technologies outside of Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable (e.g. Electronics, Computer Sciences, Software Development, Navigation, Data analytics, Sensors, Optics, Acoustics, Energy, etc)
It would be a distinct advantage if you had R&D experience with other medical device technologies and product lines outside of orthopedics and demonstrated experience in, or willingness to participate in a start- up type culture working in a fast pace, small nimble team environment.
