Customer & Shopper Marketing Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth by focusing on core strategies and cultivating business partnerships within specific geographies, regions or trade organizations. Is also accountable for profit & loss, revenue and implementation of CE / CEE strategies into local needs.

Strategic role:

  • Responsible for both sales channels in Consumer Division – Mass Market and Pharma Market
  • Responsible for trade purchasing and marketing activities to maximize account objectives.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and analysis of account specific promotional programs.
  • Develop and scale commercial innovation
  • Establish performance metrics and tracks results
  • Review status reports to determine status and focus areas
  • Prepare reports for management to assist with decision making
  • Act as liaison between stakeholders ensuring clear communication of business strategies, key initiatives, learning and filling key information gaps
  • Participate in the business planning
  • Drive forecasting processes for channel and brand plans. Ensures that products are readily available for sale from C&SM end in Hungary
  • Establish manager level relationships with key accounts and associations

In-store / Out of store activation planning:

  • Ensure optimum shopper activation @ POS and with customers
  • Plan, develop and direct implementation of programs for local and regional trade customers
  • Amplify cluster toolkits to meet local customer / shopper needs; develop local solutions for local needs
  • Lead local brand plans
  • Safeguard quality and full local compliance of local adaptations of regional marketing materials, TVCs, POS, Mastertexts,etc)

Drive perfect store and customer projects:

  • Lead development of local Must Stock Lists and action planning
  • Drive value-added strategic customer relationships, e.g. via category mgmt or shopper projects
  • Identify joint value creation opportunities
  • Drive improving customer satisfaction levels

Cluster/ Regional cooperation:

  • Leverage cluster / regional shopper focus areas to drive local business
  • Implement cluster Big Bets
  • RGM: Lead and execute CE RGM initiatives: analyse, make conclusions, prepare arguments for decisions.
  • Bring local expertise to cluster
  • Local market & customer understanding
  • Apply and share best practices; export common learnings from local 

Market Data Analysis:

  • Lead generation of shopper insights and their interpretation throughout action planning
  • Lead monitoring of products and market performance, competitor actions, analysis of complex data patterns and trends (Nielsen, Dunnhumby, IMS, GFK, etc)
  • Ensure in-depth brand profitability understanding with triggers and issues
  • Oversee execution of shopper research (primarily shop along interviews)
  • Ensure that sales team is supported with proper data, charts. Sales briefings

People management / people development:

  • Responsible for leadership of category solution team (5 managers and part time students)

  • Drive and contribute to local and CE formal trainings and on-the-job coaching


  • BME Budget management as per cluster targets
  • Smart management of both BME and SG&A

General Responsibilities:

  • Meet all applicable quality and compliance requirements (i.e. HCC/HCBI/ANTI-CORRUPTION/FCPA/US-GCC/Privacy/SOX/QA/Safe Fleet)
  • On time reporting of spontaneous adverse events (AE) reports and quality complaints for all products
  • Successfully complete all mandatory training on time


  • University or College degree preferably in economics, marketing, commercial, market research fields.
  • 4 – 6 years stretching experience in similar position preferably in the Pharma/FMCG sector with proven track record of success
  • 10+ years of total experience
  • Ideally a mix of CatMan, In-store activation and trade promo, shopper insight experience
  • Front-line sales background, Key account management, Consumer marketing background or Experience with retail industry are counted as an advantage
  • Leadership and Team Management skills
  • Collaboration / Team working / Communication skills
  • Good knowledge of the local market
  • Strong presentation & problem solving skills
  • Sound analytical and numerical skills, ability to draw conclusions based on analyses
  • MS Excel and PowerPoint excellence

  • „Can do“ and „winning“ attitude
  • B category driver’s license
  • Perfect standard of written and spoken English, fluency in Hungarian language
