The J&J EMEA Development Centre (EDC) are seeking an experienced Software Test Coach to join our team. The EDC design, develop and deliver high quality business applications, software solutions and services to meet J&J business technology requirements.


The successful candidate will be an experienced Software Test Coach and SME with a successful track record in leading large, cross functional teams, in a complex multi-disciplinary environment. The successful candidate will have previous experience of end to end Software Development Lifecycle Management processes, test management best practices and lead the adoption of best practice use of testing technologies.
Our offices are designed specifically to accommodate Agile Scrum development and are based on the University of Limerick Campus. It is an open and highly collaborative environment based on LEAN principles with a strong emphasis on continuous integration, automated testing and continuous delivery.
  • Leads testing strategy whilst following the SDLC. This role requires broad knowledge of testing solutions, tools and process requirements, leadership and creativity to work within a large IT service delivery organization to drive business solutions.
  • Designs and creates learning environment and encourages meaningful growth by empowering scrum team members to take ownership of Test and Validation solutions.
  • Collaborates with teams to identify knowledge and skills gaps on test and validation strategies to take action.
  • Acts as dominant service owner during demand intake
  • Plan, select and schedule approved vendors to deliver testing services. May oversee the work of vendor resources throughout a project.
  • Maintains a test strategy for EDC software development teams. The focus primarily is to build best quality into software delivered from EDC.
  • Lead and manage the EDC budget for the delivery of the service and be responsible for reporting on service performance to leadership and customers.
  • Leads and develops service improvement plans and/or run service improvement initiatives.
  • Champions SDLC test deliverables while building the best quality and validated software.

 Nice to have:
  • Previous experience running large complex multi-disciplinary team.
  • Financal and operational oversight of project and software engineering testing teams
  • Possesses strong understanding of Agile development methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban.
  • Leadership and Test management.
  • Operational Management.
 Preferred qualifications:
  • BSc. or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrable bias toward action.
