Core Job Responsibilities/ Accountability
1.Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies
2.The Senior Manager of Post Market Studies for Japan is responsible for
ensuring strategic alignment of all Phase IV IISs and PMOSs across each
business unit. This individual leads the post market study organization in
directing all Japan Phase IV initiatives across all SBUs, as well as overseeing
all Phase IV submissions from Japan. This individual reviews all Phase IV IIS
and PMOS investigational grant submissions to ensure they are strategically
aligned with AMO business goals.
3.The Senior Manager of Post Market Studies for Japan plays a primary role in
key Opinion Leader development and, in conjunction with his or her team,
supports KOLs in the development of data which answers medically relevant
questions and provides clinical differentiation that can be utilized across
promotional and educational activities. Other KOL support activities include
clinical abstract, presentations, and publication of deliverables.
4.The Senior Manager of Post Market Studies for Japan is required to maintain
current scientific knowledge in all product areas, including laser vision
correction (REF), Surgical(CAT),and Eyecare (CEH). He or she covers all
literature sources for new data/competitive materials and study proposals and
disseminates these to the relevant AMO teams. The Senior Manager of Post
Market Studies for Japan stays abreast of all competitive technological data,
presentations and attends all global Tier1 scientific congresses for MDs and
5. This person must also be able to effectively lead cross-functional discussions
with Marketing, Sales, R&D, and Clinical Research team members. This
individual must stay abreast of all IIS and PMOS SOPs, as well as any new
federal legislation that may impact AMO’s ability to remain compliant.
6. The Senior Manager of Post Market Studies for Japan is responsible for
managing the Phase IV budget within guidance which includes headcount,
travel, and all funding resources allocated to IIS and PMOS initiatives, including
third party vendors. This individuals must have good presentation skills in order
to effectively update business unit teams, advisory boards, and investigator
groups on relevant information. This person is also responsible for compiling all
Phase IV OMR updates across their region.
Primary Function/ Primary Goals/ Objectives
1. Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Affairs, the Senior Manager
of Post Market Studies for Japan function in to drive the strategic Regional
Phase IV initiative for the respective SBUs(Strategic Business Units)while
further developing Abbott Medical Optics Japan clinical physician advocate
base within these respective areas.
2.The Senior Manager, with his team, will have primary responsibility for driving
KOL development in the Japan Region.
3.The individual will have direct managerial and budget responsibility for all
Japan Phase IV execution.
4.The Senior Manager Post Marker Studies for Japan will have responsibility
for driving the compliance review and approval process for all Investigator
initiated Studies (IIS) and Post Market Observation Studies (PMOS)
submissions for Japan to the Americans team for the Review Process.
5.The Senior Manager of Post Market Studies for Japan also maintains current
scientific knowledge in Ophthalmology with specific emphasis on their
respective areas of responsibilities and Interacts with Marketing, Sales, R&D,
Legal, Regulatory and Clinical for medical support.
6.This individual will seek out information on medical and scientific literature,
scientific meetings, symposia, and seminars that differentiates Abbott Medical
Optics products from the competition and supports Key Opinion Leader initiated
- University Graduate. Learned Science, Engineering or Medicine in university or graduate school.
