The Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics & Metabolism (PDM) department within Janssen Research & Development is constantly strengthening its team and is currently looking for a passionate scientist to represent PDM on cross-disciplinary discovery and early development project teams.
Your responsibilities.
As project representative, you will have in depth knowledge of both in vitro and in vivo ADME & pharmacokinetics and be responsible for representing PDM on multidisciplinary project teams. You will develop a deep understanding of the project biology/pharmacology and will be expected to provide scientific leadership and strategic direction to assigned projects. You will have responsibility for progressing molecules with appropriate ADME & pharmacokinetic properties, through lead optimization to clinical candidate nomination and are expected to demonstrate awareness of project status at all times.
The candidate will also partner with other PDM scientific leaders to advance the ADME science and strategies for prosecuting primarily small molecule projects and may also influence external scientific and regulatory practices through publication and other interactions.

Ph.D. in Medicinal/Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or Pharmacokinetics, Drug Metabolism or related field, with at least 8+ years of relevant academic and/or industrial experience.

Industry experience in ADME & PK and a proven track record of scientific achievement& project influence.

Experience in drug discovery / development up to POC.

Broad understanding of various PDM relevant areas such as physicochemical properties, drug metabolizing enzyme & transporter kinetics, pharmacokinetics, mechanistic biotransformation, analytical sciences is highly preferred.

Ability to translate data into project relevance as part of anticipating and/or mitigating project challenges.

Demonstrates ability to integrate data from multiple sources in to a rational understanding of drug disposition.
General understanding of PK/PD modeling and its application to advance projects.

Proficiency in human PK predictions.

General understanding of drug discovery, chemistry and pharmacology is preferred.

Being a team player with strong communication in an international team setting including a matrix environment.

Good negotiation and influencing skills, priority setting and adherence to project and departmental timelines.
