Johnson & Johnson completed the acquisition of Abbott Medical Optics, Inc. in February 2017, and we are in the process of integrating this business into the Johnson & Johnson Vision organization.  With this acquisition, we’re proud to be expanding beyond just vision “correction.”  Now, in addition to offering ACUVUE® brand contact lenses, we’re able to offer patients a suite of Consumer Eye Health products that fall into one of three categories – Contact Lens Care, Dry Eye and Eye Health. And, by combining our company’s world-leading ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lens business with leading IOL and refractive technologies, we will be able to improve and restore sight for more patients as they move from one life stage to the next.
 
The Brand Manager, Consumer Eye Health will be responsible for growing the Consumer Eye Health portfolio of products in the US.  These products include Blink RevitaLens® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution, Blink® Contacts Lubricating Eye Drops, Blink-N-Clean® Drops, Blink® Tears, Blink® Tears Preservative Free, Blink GelTears® Lubricating Eye Drops, Blink® Lid Wipes and Blink® Omega-3.
 
The person in this role will be required to collaboration across multiple independent legal entities, including Abbot Medical Optics, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson Consumer, given the unique business model for the Consumer Eye Health Portfolio.  He or she will be responsible for leading the development of a business plan, working closely with Johnson & Johnson Vision Care global marketing, US Consumer, Professional and Shopper Marketing teams, Professional Affairs, and US Customer Sales to develop and execute an annual calendar of sub-brand product marketing initiatives. These initiatives will include but not be limited to the development of sales force selling tools, professional marketing materials to support events and educational initiatives, and professional and consumer advertising delivered through traditional, social, digital, and customer channels. This position will oversee the commercialization of all new product innovation, working closely with global teams to transition responsibility from global development to local commercialization.  This position is also responsible for forecasting and health of the business reporting.
 
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Developing product positioning with accountability for volume and share objectives, pricing strategies, and execution of claims.
  • Working closely with demand planning and analytics teams to effectively forecast consumer and customer demand.
  • Contributing to the lifecycle strategy of new and existing products, collaborating with marketing, sales, IM, regulatory, research & development, manufacturing and financial disciplines for the US market. 
  • Working directly with creative agencies to develop or adapt tools and assets.  
  • Developing and measuring performance with KPI indicators across all initiatives.
  • Managing external agency and vendor relationships to include contracts and budgets, with overall accountability for the effectiveness of products and services purchased. 
  • Securing medical, regulatory, legal, and trademark approval for all marketing communications assets and programs. 
  • Complying with HCC guidelines and reporting requirements.
  • Possibility of managing direct report(s), e.g. Associate Brand Managers.


Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s Degree or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of work experience, including three (3) years of progressive consumer marketing experience or its equivalent (e.g. agency experience, shopper marketing, customer/trade marketing) is required, with a strong track record of business results and organizational leadership.
  • Professional Medical and/or Medical Device marketing experience is preferred.
  • A demonstrated record of marketing success including integrated communications/advertising delivery, business plan development, and/or classical marketing training is required.
  • Prior experience working with market research and advertising agencies and agency management is required.
  • Prior experience working with Legal, Regulatory and Medical partners is required; prior experience working with Global partners is preferred.
  • Strong creative and conceptual thinking ability to set a vision, identify new opportunities, develop new ways of working, pinpoint solutions to complex problems and overcome obstacles is required.
  • Exceptional analytical ability, able to examine complex sets of data, identify important, meaningful information and translate one’s analyses into simple, compelling fact-based stories is required.
  • Strong sense of urgency, comfort with ambiguity and ability to manage complexity is required.
  • Strong collaboration skills are required.
  • Proven leadership ability to inspire and motivate people to rally behind an idea or initiative
  • This position is located in Jacksonville, FL and will require up to 20% domestic travel.
