of Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Engineer for its Cerenovus R&D
group in our Miami, FL location.
Cerenovus develops a wide range of therapeutic products for the treatment of neurovascular disorders, focusing on ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.
The Staff Engineer will work on post-market design, product and process related changes and design control procedures to support and maintain ongoing business. The successful candidate will be working within a cross-functional project team focusing on implementing changes to approved products that include process changes, material changes, design changes and or supplier changes. The candidate will also work with Regulatory Affairs teams worldwide to support the maintenance and renewal of product registrations. The candidate will also work on targeted initiatives to update and modify design control procedures as part of larger JNJ sector initiatives. The candidate will work closely with members of the project core team (manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs etc.) to identify appropriate design documentation changes, testing activities, existing bodies of data and other required activity to demonstrate conformance to specification and achieve regulatory approvals for the changes.
The candidate has a full understanding in the application of design controls and development processes. Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods. The candidate has the ability to define scope of work, plan and prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload, exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and interface effectively with others in the project team. Work is expected to result in significant contributions to the development of new or refined equipment, materials, processes, products, and/or methods. May technically supervise, coordinate and review the work of technicians.
A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of related engineering experience is required.
Experience in product design, process development, device testing or prototyping is desirable.
Experience working with physician customers is desirable.
The candidate must be capable of applying standard statistical practices and techniques in specific situations, and to adjust and correlate data and recognize discrepancies in results.
The candidate will work independently on
assigned project activities in a cross functional team environment.
This position will be located in Miami, FL and requires up to 10% travel domestically with the potential for international travel.
