Position Components
 

The two-year Fellowship within the US Medical Affairs (USMA) group is a postgraduate training program designed to prepare Fellows to become proficient in the strategic and operational activities to support the Oncology therapeutic area.  You will be responsible for developing & communicating scientific content to internal and external stakeholders and supporting the management aspects of advisory boards. The Fellow will have an opportunity to work cross-functionally to support products across the Janssen Oncology portfolio.

 
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
 
  • Working collaboratively with Medical Affairs in-house and field medical staff supporting ongoing projects

  • Assist in the development and execution of US strategic publication, medical education, and medical communication plans inclusive of communication gaps, deliverables & priorities, and optimal execution of plan.

  • Support the medical teams with scientific content for medical congresses, peer reviewed publications, and development of slides for Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), key external meetings including advisory boards, scientific steering committee meetings etc.

  • Become proficient in the development and review of internal medical training materials and education programs

  • Assist in managing advisory board meetings through efficient communication and achieving organizational and project level goals

  • Gain exposure to development of integrated evidence generation plans to achieve a coordinated strategy to maximize value and development of an asset

  • Gain understanding of different types of clinical trials conducted in USMA including company sponsored studies, investigator-initiated studies, and registries

  • Be exposed to various other functions within the larger Medical Affairs Oncology organization including MSL shadowing/ride along

  • Develop a working knowledge of internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) as well as Good Publication Practices (GPP3), and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations for reference in the development of publications

  • Attend relevant training courses and/or workshops (internal or external) to enhance professional development



Qualifications
Qualifications
  • An advanced degree (PharmD/PhD) with 0-2 years of experience
  • Ability to critically evaluate data from multiple sources (clinical trials, literature, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-starter with a demonstrated track record of achievements
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and a working knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • This position will be in Horsham, PA and will require up to 20% domestic travel
