You the Senior Manager, Quality Training - Ethicon & CSS will:

  • Manage the quality training and education department to develop and implement quality training programs that support company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the design and administration of training programs to train all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Keep abreast of training and development research, new materials, methods and techniques.
  • Develop curriculum based training strategy to meet organization needs while ensuring all associates satisfy established training requirements of regulations and standards for healthcare manufacturers.
  • Support any regulatory inspections or internal/external assessments.
  • Ensure that all direct reports have the education, training and experience, or a combination of these, in order to carry out all job duties and responsibilities.
  • With area leaders, determine training needs and develop efficient and effective solutions to include methodology of learning, training processes, technical/knowledge management and measurement/training evaluation.
  • Designs training utilizing instructional design principles, performance-based training, and utilization of global Learning Management System.
  • Develop training metrics and communicates training strategy, plans and progress updates to management.
  • Conduct management meetings to establish, delineate and review program organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
  • Monitor performance indicators to ensure that employees are competent for their assigned roles.
  • Design training solutions, or work with training solutions vendors, to meet training needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership for performance support activities. Assures implementation of corrective action as required, and assures compliance to procedures and regulations by requesting and monitoring corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage the instructional integrity of training programs including the functions of needs assessments, development of performance objectives, selection of instructional, presentation and distribution methods, creation of support materials (i.e., instructor led training materials, leaders guide, participant guides, job aids, handouts, assessments), and the creation of measurement tools.
  • Provide oversight and support to any vendor-lead training initiative. Responsible for the execution of processes and acceptance standards for vendor developed training programs through an RFP process.
  • Manage vendor training and delivery process.
  • Establish and manage resources (financial and headcount) within training budget.
  • Provides technical guidance, personnel development, performance feedback, and business goals to direct reports.
  • Partners with cross functional training departments to ensure consistency and alignment of training objectives throughout the organization.


Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of business experience within a regulated industry is required.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in training solutions, training systems and instructional design is required.
  • Experience with training processes and knowledge of training methodologies for adult audiences is required.
  • Personal computer skills, word processing, project planning, presentation, e-mail and spreadsheet software is required.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in a FDA (Food & Drug Administration) regulated environment is preferred.
  • Experience providing business support to Learning Management Systems is required
  • Global Medical Device regulations is preferred.
  • This position will be located in Irvine, Irwindale, Somerville or Cincinnati and may require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.
