The Sr Manager, Channel Management will be responsible for supporting the distribution agreement and program life cycle across Ethicon. He/she will own or provide input to the design of contract terms, conditions and discounts to support foundational and new channel programs. This individual will lead cross-functional projects of large scope from concept through implementation. The Sr Manager, Channel will also serve as the channel lead/representative on multi-functional business unit teams as assigned.  This individual will partner with broad internal stakeholders across multiple functions as well as across the distributor network. Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Distributor-facing support focused on end-to-end process:
    • Pricing admin thru delivery logistics
    • Interfacing with various stakeholders through the Johnson and Johnson Health Care Systems (JJHCS) Contracting and Deliver teams
    • Participating in the assessment of supply chain penalties, incentives, and distributor business models
    • Custom Kit Assembler strategy, relationship, sterilization guidelines
  • Distributor agreement contract lifecycle management, including:
    • Establishing and maintaining knowledge of channel strategies and business models across internal stakeholder groups
    • Refining policies, standards, guidelines, technology and procedures related to Channel business models 
    • Assessing new distributors with J&J Corporate Security and Finance
    • Notifying distributors of List Price changes, product launches, discontinuations, backorders and field actions/recalls
    • Communicating distributor trending to purchase minimums
    • Reviewing term sheet performance
    • Leading program design sessions to help shape contract terms and processes to achieve Ethicon’s strategic objectives through distribution
    • Giving direction to JJHCS Enterprise Contracting and Payments on contract design, effective start/end dates, performance-based tier moves, compliance to terms and conditions
  • Project management for (but not limited to):
    • New/emerging channel strategies business case creation, project timeline and team management, including implementation
    • Sponsor improvement project on Product Info Management to improve antiquated processes for communicating with distributors
  • Supporting external audit team and distributor actions led by JJHCS Compliance
  • Identifying and directly addressing grey market risks through the distribution channels with support from Ethicon field sales organization, Global Brand Protection and Legal teams
  • This role requires management of 1 direct report, Lead Analyst  

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or Supply Chain is preferred 
  • An Advanced Degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of business experience is required
  • Previous medical device industry experience is required
  • Multi-sector experience (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and Consumer) is preferred
  • Working knowledge of the distribution channel is preferred
  • The ability to establish and maintain knowledge of channel strategies and business models, while having a customer-centric mindset is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience is required
  • Experience leading cross- functional projects from concept to implementation is required
  • Knowledge of ModelN or Revitas is preferred
  • High-level usage of Excel in complex models is required
  • Knowledge of Tableau and/or Qlik Sense is preferred
  • The ability to identify critical business questions and execute analysis to develop actionable insights is preferred 
  • Strong consultative skills, with the ability to understand the business needs of both Ethicon and distributors, and to collaborate effectively with Channel peers in development of new programs is required
  • The ability to effectively present results and recommendations of analyses up to the VP level is required
  • Experience collaborating with all levels of management and influencing decision-making across a matrix organization is required 
  • The ability to think strategically, manage change and adapt to meet rapidly changing priorities is required
  • The ability to produce quality deliverables in a highly demanding and fast-paced environment is required 

This position will be based in Somerville, NJ and require up to 10% travel.
