Today, Vision Care North America works directly with over 40.000 ECP’s in the Eye Health industry and has sales over $1.3bn. Eye Health in North America is under considerable pressure due to epidemic increase of myopia prevalence, the patient-doctor relationship being disrupted and the need to support the practice and profession in their transformation to provide better science and health care to the patients. As VC North America it is essential we shape and drive these discussions and implement plans at the different levels: education, advocacy at state and federal level and collaboration with the different associations in order to drive the Vision Care category to growth.

 

To enable this critical strategy, the decision was made to bring these teams together so that we have one strategy and one voice towards the 40.000 professionals we serve today.

 

Therefore, Senior Director, JNJ Vision Care North America Professional Affairs has overall responsibility for leading the professional strategy, building the relationships externally, and providing the messaging for JJV related to the regulatory environment for eye health, professional eye education and professional Eye Health equity in our influential networks.

 

This leader will translate the Vision Care North America Core Leadership Team business strategies into Professional Education, Professional Affairs and Advocacy strategies and tactical plans

 

The leader will work to build and developing the professional external messaging to behavior change to provide competitive advantage for JNJ Vision Care, through the development and implementation of JNJ Global Professional Education strategies and a regional delivery model, while also advocating with relation to FTC, state legislation and external affairs organization on behalf of JNJ Vision in relation to Eye Health, and  JNJ Vision innovation, products (e.g., ACUVUE Brand Contact Lenses) and technology solutions

 

Will provide business strategy from the external influences to our internal leaders on the Core LT, related to commercial go-to market strategies.

 

Ensuring compliance to the HCP Professional Operations policy, processes, and procedures and support the implementation and personnel training of the HCP Professional Relationship Operations eco-system for the Americas

 

This leader will create the leading strategy development for all external networking, education and influence related to how Vision Care is represented in North America

 

This leader will have significant influence to the NA President of Vision Care related to campaign, messaging and advocacy as we message to entire sales and marketing organization as the efforts we lead in Eye health.

 

They will be the external face for JNJ Vision in Washington DC and many State Capital initiatives.

 

This is leader must have a strong understanding of the legal and legislative framework. They should also be well connected in the Optometry world, as a credible eye health advocate and practitioner.

 

This position is highly complex as you must have specialty of medicine, the knowledge of government affairs, the credibility and confidence of the business acumen and lead both the strategy of the team and have a voice of LT member.

Developing the Professional Education capability to drive “peer-to-peer” behavior change to provide competitive advantage for JNJ Vision Care, through the development and implementation of Professional Education strategies, ensuring customers in North in America have a willingness to demonstrate and advocate for the JNJ Vision innovation, products (e.g., ACUVUE Brand Contact Lenses) and technology solutions.

 

Supporting the Professional Relations team with the focus on creating value with the different associations and institutions. Additionally, collaborate with schools and related programs to support and shape the North America professional development.

 

Ensuring compliance to the HCP Professional Operations policy, processes, and procedures and support the implementation and personnel training of the HCP Professional Relationship Operations eco-system for North Americas.

 

Leading the JNJ Vision Care Advocacy strategy on state and federal level, work with the different partners in JNJ and outside to develop and implement strategies that support our commitment to Eye Health with regulatory and other healthcare bodies.

 

Works with technology leaders to create and maintain industry leading technology capabilities.

 

Leadership responsibility for assuring necessary tools, policies and procedures are developed and integrated to support and comply with all legal, regulatory and HCC policies.

 

Benchmark JNJ Vision regional practices and JNJ Medical Devices to implement Professional Education best-practices in North America.

 


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Medical Degree, MBA and/or Master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant business experience is required
  • 5 years of professional education is required
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with diverse multi-functional teams across geographic boundaries
  • A solid understanding of the legal and legislative framework is required
  • Up to 50% domestic and international travel
