Within Consumer Health, the Global Plan Excellence (GPEx) organization is the owner of supply chain planning processes, data and metrics - driving continuous improvement, ensuring skill-set building of our global planners through training and facilitating change requirements and maintaining efficiency of process execution. Responsibilities cover all Global Consumer Health Planning processes, Master Data, metrics, reporting and analytics.

Role Summary

As member of the Global Planning Excellence (GPEx) team, the Business Process Owner is responsible for:

- Shaping, standardizing & strengthening Supply Planning processes by identifying appropriate internal and external best practices to develop strategic plans and meet the needs of the sector regionally and globally

- Leading key Regional and Global Plan Programs and initiatives, with a focus on advancing Planning Capabilities, enabling growth, improving Customer Experience, and driving E2E Supply Chain Efficiencies


This role works closely together with other ‘Excellence’ roles and specialized functional teams on technical set up and developments. The Process Owner needs to be able to design processes and drive implementation on a detailed level.


Major Responsibilities

Process Improvement:

  • Advances Planning Capabilities (people, process, technology) across the sector, leading areas that will enable growth, improve Customer Experience, and drive E2E Supply Chain Efficiencies. Build EMEA Supply Planning roadmap in alignment with global and regional strategies and other cross-functional stakeholders
  • Standardizes and Improves planning processes and introduces new processes based on their functional expertise, external best practices, and Enterprise Planning standards
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Planning, Supply Chain IT, and Supply Chain Systems & Solutions teams to prioritize Plan technology roadmap for the sector
  • Creates training Plans to maintain and improve Planner capabilities and skills. Works closely with Plan Leaders to implement training programs in the Region. Develop training materials and drive/ support training delivery
  • Creates and maintains functional community of practices (CoP’s) with key Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to facilitate the sharing of best practice, deliver system and process training and manage process improvement projects

 Process Governance/Ownership:
  • Leads ongoing Process Governance and integrity, reporting, and data accuracy. Regularly monitors process compliance
  • Owns planning analytics; develops and deploys a consistent set of tools to improve key supply chain metrics and support business decisions
  • Manages key Plan projects and initiatives, working cross-functionally to prioritize resources and mitigate risk
  • Develops, coaches and guides a team of business experts in the execution and realization of departmental and company goals, optimization overall group effectiveness and business impact
  • Leads Change Management practices to ensure effective implementation and integration of process improvement initiatives


- University Masters level or equivalent with a preference for an industrial engineering degree
- 5-10 years related experience

- Minimum of 4 years working in Supply Chain Planning as a functional expert in one or more Planning Capabilities

- Consumer industry experience and/or Johnson and Johnson experience required

- Strong Experience with ERP & Advanced Planning Systems is preferred (OMP, APO)

- Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools is highly preferred
- Business fluent English, fluency in any other European language desired

Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities:

- Demonstrated ability to design and implement planning processes, organizations and systems

- Ability to develop, coach, and lead a team of planners and team leads in the execution and realization of departmental and company goals

- The ability to influence Director levels within the organization and in a matrix environment

- Ability to build strong collaborative teams and relationships, leading cross functional/virtual teams where required

- Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms

- Ability to drive & apply continuous process improvement tools and improvements to large and complex projects

- Ability to effectively manage projects, multiple priorities, and timelines

- Demonstrates working knowledge of change management concepts and methodologies

- Recognized as a planning expert in your functional field, with end to end understanding of SC processes, enabling clear recommendations for sustainable solutions

The role is based in Zug, Switzerland and will include some travel to other facilities.
