Position summary

Ensures scientific leadership in the creation of value communication, reimbursement dossiers, scientific reports, evidence reviews and publications at all stages of the design and implementation of projects.

Beyond perfect execution, drive the team to become the leading expert group in the industry and increase organizational capabilities evidence review and synthesis.


Major Duties & Responsibilities

Assists in developing the strategy for the HEMAR COE and in particular the implementation of the evidence reviews and synthesis section of the COE.

Guarantees the proper end result of all the deliverables in scope of the evidence review and synthesis section, produced by the CoE (directly or via vendors).

Provides thought leadership in scientific review and publication of outcomes for the EMEA region and is accountable for quality and timeliness and for the improvement of quality and speed of delivery of evidence review and synthesis materials tailored to Opco and/or EMEA needs.

Recruits, leads and develops a team of evidence review and synthesis experts at the edge of knowledge to position Janssen HEMAR EMEA at the top of the industry

Optimize methodological expertise: Maintains professional standards by keeping track of new developments in statistical methodology and outcomes research, through literature review and attendance or participation at workshops and professional meetings.

Ensures the collection and sharing of best practices / lessons learned from vendors, as well as from countries. Ensures the accumulation of experience, the deployment of experience and the improvement of outcomes in his/her scope of responsibility.

Ensures creation of clear, accurate, timely & relevant MA communications and stories adapted to various external stakeholders across EMEA.

Manages quality assurance and validation of works conducted by others, incl. external vendors.

Represent EMEA in the global publication team for the resp. TA’s.

Ensures and develops new systematic literature reviews or update existing ones to the highest quality standards according to HTA guidelines as well as best-in -class publication strategies and subsequent manuscripts for publication, posters and reports on analyses conducted by diverse teams within the EMEA Region.

  • Provide scientific statistical reports and publication expertise at all stages of the design and implementation of observational outcomes projects, economic modelling projects, etc. from planning & design through to completion, in close collaboration with multi-disciplinary research teams:

    • provide input into the concept, design and development of observational study protocols to ensure appropriate and scientifically sound publications 
    • provide input and/or write up of the statistical analysis plans
    • provide scientific insight in the interpretation and discussion of study results
    • develop a sound publication plan that optimizes e.g. impact factor with speed of publication etc…
    • dully own the execution of the study reports to comply with the highest HTA standards such as Nice, IQWIG and HAS as well as manuscript writing and publication.
  • Develop new systematic literature reviews or update existing ones to the highest quality standards according to HTA guidelines (e.g. Nice, IqwiG, HAS)

  • Perform feasibility assessments for ITC or NMA based on the data extracted in the SLR’s and make recommendations or identify evidence gaps to perform and ITC or NMA.

  • Produce manuscripts for publication, posters and reports on analyses conducted by diverse teams within the EMEA region (e.g. HEMAR EMEA Analytics group, local operating company teams, CMAL’s or HEMAR EMEA managers or vendors).

  • Fully own the selection of journals and submission process incl. follow ups upon submission.

Qualifications

Required Years of Experience:
A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in Health Economics or Outcomes Research is required.


Preferred Area of Study: 

Statistics, Epidemiology, Biostatistician, Information and Library Science, Health economics, Pharmacy, Biology, Health Policy


Preferred Related Industry:

Experience with applied work in one or more of the following therapeutic areas: Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Neuroscience, Immunology, and/or Cardiovascular and Metabolic is preferred.

Strong intellectual curiosity and creativity

Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English.
Excellent project management, time management and organizational skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad experience in health economics and an expert in economic/scientific evidence review and synthesis

  • Deep understanding of research principles & familiarity with key aspects of the literature (historical & current)

  • Advanced level understanding of relevant methodology and statistics

  • Extensive knowledge of practical research implementation

  • Excels in handling staff growth and synergy, as well as client relations

  • Excellent communication skills including presentations

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and creativity

  • Ability to collaborate across diverse cross-functional and cross-country teams
