OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
 
Having the right capabilities at the right time and place is key. It is the foundation for the success of Janssen and it is an enabler for the further growth of each individual employee. To ensure this, we need to identify current as well as future capability needs. We must also address the needs through developing solutions that are sustainable, anchored and closely linked to the priorities of the business. It is the responsibility of the EMEA Capability Development Team to lead this work in close cooperation with the functions in EMEA.

The Manager Capability Development will design and lead the development programs for regional functional capability building, designed to deliver an industry leading capability building experience for Janssen’s employees in these functions.
 
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS:
  • Leadership engagement:
    Partner with functional leaders to shape key capability solutions that balance short and mid-term capability development and combine measurement, IT-based and innovative learning solutions tailored to the diverse learner audiences
  • Leadership engagement:
    Build the bridge between regional and OpCo functional leaders for buy-in and rigor in execution for these solutions
  • Engaging in a matrix:
    Facilitates local capability solution implementation and assure feedback loops into design. Identifies local capability needs and evaluates case to integrate into regional solutions. Builds and sustains a network with the local functional contacts and activates it for the successful implementation of regional capability solutions
  • Learning content design:
    Finds the right balance in the design between new innovative learning approaches and what the learner audience is ready for. Emphasizes the solutions that drive deliberate practice as the key mechanism to anchoring in daily job and owns the success of anchoring
  • Strategic project management: Strategically leads the project from start to end. Balances differing scope and timing priorities and leads to a solution that finds critical endorsement

 


Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Excellent project management skills.
Self-starter with a proactive attitude, capable of working effectively independently.
Knowledge and understanding of working in a highly matrixed, complex environment.
Ability to develop and maintain a strong network of internal and external partners across multiple countries.
Commitment to project delivery standards and timelines.
Excellent communication skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Awareness of and adherence to J&J Credo values, SOPs, Policies and Guidelines.
 
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in an organizational Design/ Change Management and/or Training and Development role is required. Track record of successful management of capability development in a corporate environment.
A good understanding of technology-based learning solutions is an advantage
Fluency in additional EMEA languages would be beneficial
 
JOB LOCATION:
The role can be based at any of the major central European J&J office.
Travel (<25%) is be required to delivery OpCo implementation sessions and training modules in the EMEA region.
