This is a unique opportunity to be a founding member of the BI-BD-EP team at Janssen Asia Pacific. The team has APAC responsibilities for Business Intelligence (BI), Business Development (BD) & Strategic Marketing for Established Brands (EB). 

This role will focus on enabling and improving evidence-based decision making through systematic improvements in the quality and efficiency of insight generation across Business Intelligence (BI) teams in AP. The senior manager will also partner with global, regional and local functions on New Business Development and Strategic Marketing activities.


Business Intelligence (BI)
  • Drive implementation with countries of next generation regional data lake, forecasting, visualization and analytics platforms
  • Solicit and guide the exchange of best practices in generating insights, advanced analytics and feedback / impact metrics across AP and with other regions
  • Design and provide governance over AP-wide ontologies for market research, syndicated data, and internal insights
  • Facilitate and oversee high-impact strategic projects, both regional and in-market
  • Improve communication of findings / insights, serve as key liaison between BI and regional IVTs
  • Work with local HR to oversee talent development programs (e.g. rotations, training)
  • Enhance AP-wide competitiveness and empower situational awareness 
  • Evolve business thinking and anticipate future business needs
  • Stay on top of the latest innovations and start-ups in big data, fast data, advanced analytics and novel data sources
New Business Development (BD)
  • Global business development opportunity evaluation
  • Support local teams with their BD activities
  • Project Lead the execution of divestment projects
  • Seek synergies and broader opportunities via the Emerging market BD forum
  • Form strong relationships with the global NBD teams

  • 6-8+ years of proven success in pharmaceutical / biotech commercial, market research, management or strategy consulting
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and changes in the business model (current trends and future outlook)
  • Highly developed strategic thinking, commercial skills and experience
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop and communicate a cohesive story through qualitative and quantitative data analysis (proficiency in R, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, Anaplan, SQL / MS Access preferred)
  • Track record of working in cross functional teams and collaboration with multiple stakeholders
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence without authority
  • Passion for innovation 
  • Japanese and/or Chinese-language fluency preferred
  • Able to travel up to 20%
