The Senior Associate Scientist on the CVMR&PH Biomarker Team will support the execution of the biomarker plans for the programs in clinical development (including renal programs), as well as the identification and qualification of novel biomarkers, from discovery to development, for retinal and pulmonary programs. This individual will perform a broad range of laboratory activities requiring specialized knowledge of techniques and scientific field such as: exosome isolation and analysis, RNA isolation, RT-PCR analysis, ELISA, western analysis, and other biochemical assays. This successful candidate will also be required to contribute to a multi-disciplinary team environment, simultaneously participate in several project teams, and effectively communicate their progress against objectives to scientists and management of all levels.
The Senior Associate Scientist will be expected to apply their experience toward the solution of complex problems, to relate their own work to developments within the company and in the overall scientific/pharmaceutical community, and to advance the projects of research and development activities within their functional area.
The Senior Associate Scientist will be required to perform procedures accurately and reproducibly. The candidate will interpret results of experiments, tests and procedures conducted and will perform graphic analysis of data as needed. The ability to maintain accurate and clear records of data generated is required in addition to following best practices for Data Integrity and complying with organization and company standard operating procedures in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will correct and summarize information and data for inclusion in technical reports, protocols, quantitative assays, and scientific publications.
Qualifiche
Education
- A Master of Science degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years related laboratory experience is required
Requirements
- Extensive experience in laboratory methods, procedures and quality standards is required
- Working knowledge of scientific principles is required
- This position requires the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team environment, in which the ability to assimilate new techniques, organize tasks efficiently, and communicate effectively is critical.
- This position will be based in Cambridge, MA and may require up to 5% domestic travel
Preferred
- Experience working with exosomes is preferred
