Johnson& Johnson MedTech Aesthetics& Reconstruction is recruiting for a Senior Engineer Package Development, located in Leiden, The Netherlands.


  • The Senior Engineer Package Development provides technical expertise in the areas of design, development, testing and production scale-up of new packaging components, systems and processes.

  • They lead complex engineering assignments and works independently.

  • This position supports Johnson& Johnson MedTech Aesthetics& Reconstruction at Leiden, The Netherlands

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with research and development, product management, stability, regulatory, and quality process among other functions to ensure all package design requirements are met.

  • Leads some aspects of the product / package portfolio to develop business strategies for continuous improvement related to design, process, and validation

  • Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments. Resolves and coordinates physical testing to ensure product and package integrity for manufacturing through end users.

  • Contributes to resolution of packaging related issues in manufacturing, compliance, and the field. Develops recommendations on general packaging guidelines and standards for processes and functional requirements and ensures regulatory requirements are satisfied.

  • Contributes to the company with inventions, new designs, processes, or techniques which are significant to the solution of important problems. Continually evaluates new packaging solutions and alternatives to improve operating efficiency, generate market differentiators and add sources of revenue.

  • Promotes and cultivates the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance and actively supports our compliance program-related initiatives and activities.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Package Engineering or other Technical Degree or equivalent experience (Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical Engineering, etc.)

Experience and Skills:

Required:


  • Experience with new product development and commercialization of products in a regulated industry as an engineer

  • Experience as a package development engineer or a strong understanding of the package development process and responsibilities

  • Experience as a technical lead of projects

  • Proficiency in computers, technology including MS office applications

Preferred:

  • Experience working with medical device package development

  • Knowledge of sterile barrier packaging systems and design verification including ASTM or ISTA test methods.

  • Knowledge of Package Assembly and Manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge and experience with ISO11607

  • Medical Device and/or pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Understanding of sterilization modes used in medical devices.

  • Project management skills.

Other:

  • Primary location of the position in Leiden, the Netherlands.

  • Expected travel percentage for domestic, international, or both -less than 5% per year.

  • The position may require interactions as subject matter expert with government agencies, competent authorities, third part suppliers or customers of J&J.
