Summary:

This role is responsible for sales, market share, and profit and loss (P&L) for a rapidly growing Neuroscience business as well as for leading the business strategy. The business includes our current Mood and Schizophrenia portfolio (key promoted brands include INVEGA SUSTENNA, INVEGA TRINZA, INVEGA HAFYERA, and SPRAVATO) and near-term new product pipeline. The leader will be responsible for Launch, Growth, and Mature lifecycle brand and execution strategies and plans for the portfolio. The VP must excel in working in a matrixed organizational environment as they will need to successfully manage and influence high level/complex internal and external partnerships, cross-company collaborations contributing to a critical multi-brand portfolio, multi-function partnerships, multi-billion dollar business unit sales and profitability, marketing and key account organization leadership responsibilities.

 

Marketing & Franchise responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of marketing strategies, plans and activities for the Mood and Schizophrenia business within Neuroscience, and the Franchise Strategy team. Leads Marketing organization for Schizophrenia and Mood and the Franchise team (which includes strategy, digital, channel, and the field-based Key Account Management organization)..
  • Co-lead the development and execution of global marketing and life cycle management strategy while driving US brand objectives to deliver & support NS company and Therapeutic area goals.
  • Responsible for assuring franchise, LCM, and brand strategies to support the delivery of overall financial and strategic goals of the Neuroscience business.
  • Exerts marketing and business influence on the overall NS board agenda while serving as a critical member of the NS Leadership Team and Board while shaping Janssen North America plans as a member of the J&J Innovative Medicine Commercial leadership Board.
  • Develops strategic direction and execution plans for future product indications and overall marketing organization team organization capability and design.
  • Pursues and proposes potential external Business Development opportunities and internal J&J partnerships to strengthen the Neuroscience business in partnership with Business Development, Global Commercial Strategy, and Finance.
  • Identifies and implements transformational strategies and End to End business models that align with the business and therapeutic area growth plans.
  • Assures adherence to CREDO, Business Conduct Policy & Quality and Compliance guidelines.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and assures adherence to Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine principles and standards for Commercial (Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Customer & Patient Solutions) Excellence to ensure the development of enterprise commercial leaders of the future.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross functional business partners (Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Market Access & Pricing, Patient Experience and Customer Solutions, Global Commercial Strategy to ensure compliant and integrated business growth plans that create a competitive advantage and shape the external environment.
  • Attracts, develops, and retains a pipeline of diverse and inclusive leaders that thrive in a Values (J&J CREDO) based inclusive Culture.
  • Innovates by fostering and implementing new technology, digitization, and data analytics strategies that help develop competitive capabilities, commercial insights, and operational efficiency.
  • The VP, Marketing and Franchise Strategy, NS has 4 direct reports and a team of 50+ FTEs

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in a related field is required and an advanced degree, such as an MBA, is preferred.
  • 15+ years commercial experience on multiple brands, including successful product launch experience and previous P&L management required.
  • Previous sales leadership experience strongly preferred. 
  • Additional experience in at least one other relevant functional area (medical affairs, business development, global commercial strategy, market research or analytics, market access, finance, etc.) required. 
  • Experience across different Therapeutic Areas preferred. Neuroscience experience helpful.
  • DTC or Consumer experience and experience marketing products in various cycles of the product lifecycle, are desired. 
  • Minimum of 5+ years people management experience and demonstrated strong people development skills are required. 
  • Candidates must have demonstrated: strong financial acumen, understanding of US payer channels, understanding of end-to-end product development process through patent expiration, clinical acumen,  experience interfacing with customers, and understanding of the patient journey/experience. 
  • Proven track record managing across multiple functions with high learning agility required

 

This position requires up to 30% Domestic travel and is located in Titusville, NJ. Expectation is to be in the office 3 days a week when not traveling.

The target salary for this position is $188,000-$345,000.
