Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Co-op, located in Spring House, PA Transcription/translation of GOI is influenced by many intrinsic proteins and regulatory elements in cell lines. It might be possible to modulate these controlling elements without enforcing metabolic engineering. To overcome transcriptional bottlenecks in antibody expression, we plan to implement an advanced gene regulation system in mammalian cell lines. This system, either constitutive or inducible, intends to precisely control the transcription of recombinant antibody expression cassettes, leveraging cutting-edge technology. This new technology will potentially allow for improving titers and critical quality attributes of antibodies in manufacturing CHO cell without targeted metabolic engineering and host cell line optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

The prospective candidate will perform molecular biology and mammalian cell culture activities including, but not limited to:

  • Implement molecular biology tasks including PCR, cloning, sequencing as part of daily responsibilities
  • Conduct mammalian cell culture activities, encompassing cell passaging, transfections, and single cell printing
  • Perform automated Western blotting, antibody titering, and gene and transcripts copy number analysis
  • Troubleshooting experimental procedures, and collaborating seamlessly with colleagues to champion a dynamic research environment
  • Engage in other relevant duties within the scope of molecular biology and cell culture responsibilities
