Medical Therapeutic Area Lead (MTAL) Lymphoma NL

As  Medical Therapeutic Area Leader (MTAL) NL you will be the medical leader for Lymphoma in  The Netherlands  and managing the Lymphoma Medical Affairs team. As such, you are the proactive strategic partner within the commercial organization and CVT (Country Value Team) driving medical excellence and acting as a bridge between The Netherlands and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Medical Affairs organization in building the CVT’s strategy and providing insights for the EMEA Medical Affairs strategy. The MTAL Lymphoma is a leadership role with important people management responsibilities, and will lead strategy building, execution excellence and change management at an organizational level.

 

Place in the organization:

 

The MTAL Lymphoma reports to the Medical Affairs Lead Hematology / Oncology who reports to the Country Medical Affairs Director for The Netherlands. The MTAL has people management responsibilities, leading Medical Advisors (MAs) and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs). The MTAL Lymphoma is the scientific partner to the business, thus supporting the overall company business goals and is expected to lead changes in organizational behaviors to successfully implement a medical deployment for Lymphoma in line with the CVT’s expectations.

  

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Shape Country Value Team (CVT) Planning & Strategy, based upon medical insights and data gathered in the field
  • Develop and ensure execution of the MAF plan as a contribution to the CVT strategic plan and in line with the EMEA MAF mission and priorities
  • Manage MAF budget for their TA, including resource allocation
  • Build & maintain TA leadership and KOL network; act as a trusted scientific counterpart and a partner
  • Keep abreast of medical and scientific knowledge
  • Provide clinical research/trial execution and support
  • Ensure high quality & consistency of medical content within TA
  • Ensure team compliance; maintain compliance with local and EMEA standard operating procedures (SOPs), with regulatory requirements, company policy on business integrity, and health care compliance (HCC)
  • People management: Lead and develop the MSL(s)/MA(s) within the Lymphoma MAF team and mentor them to build and develop one TA team with all individual professionals

Qualifications

Must haves:  to be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.

  • Scientific degree: Medical Doctor, pharmaceutical or biomedical degree or equivalent by experience
  • More than 5 years validated experience within Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in managing the organization and business operation in the division/department
  • Strong business discernment and proven experience/training in business administration for translation into strategy
  • Proven strong analytical, communication, influencing, decision-making, and leadership skills for interaction with external and internal partners
  • Deep understanding of local regulatory policy and industry’s code of practice related to drug registration, pharmaceutical promotion and clinical studies
  • Conceptual skills: able to have an integral view across different disciplines within the medical domain for the therapeutic area
  • Able to represent the medical domain in its broadest sense; including Medical Education, Regulatory Affairs (RA), Pharmacovigilance (PV), Quality Affairs (QA); an orchestrator beside being a specialist in his/her field
  • People management and team leadership skills: stimulate and motivate to develop and execute medical excellence and medical leadership
  • Languages: English: spoken & written; Dutch preferred
