The CSS Group, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Lead Engineer to support project teams developing, designing, & validating Direct Material Cost Improvement projects that ensure product quality, cost & performance objectives are met while concurrently providing design, quality, marketing & financial input. This position is located in Irvine, CA.

The CSS Group consists of diverse businesses including Acclarent, Biosense Webster, Codman Neuro, Mentor, and Sterilmed. The CSS Group serves a diverse base of customers in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Infection Prevention, Electrophysiology, Surgical and Non-Surgical Aesthetics, Neurovascular, and Reprocessing. The CSS Group is committed to delivering innovative products, solutions and programs to address unmet customer and patient needs around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a project lead for multiple cost improvement projects
  • Coordinate and develop RACI matrices for your teams
  • Create and maintain project budget
  • Develop project schedules and ensure team delivers to critical achievements
  • Incorporates risk mitigation methodology to drive process stability and capability
  • Actively participate in all other team activities giving input where required to other functional areas within team
  • The Senior Project Lead will operate in a matrix global organization and lead/support all areas of project including plan, marketing, design, quality, qualify, validate and stabilize component development and qualification process solutions.


Required Experiences & Skills:

  • A minimum of a University/Bachelor’s Degree; Electromechanical Engineering preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of manufacturing, engineering and/or supply chain experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience

Preferred Experiences & Skills:

  • Cost estimating
  • Process validation
  • Statistical process control
  • Product design & DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly)
  • Risk analysis including use of FMEA’s
  • Quality Function Deployment
  • Anatomy & surgical procedures
  • Quality documentation system’s
  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) & ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9000
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding the design, build, and release of medical devices, worldwide
