Box & Weigh Operator 2 is responsible for processing PS needles through final cure, weigh counting and boxing needles, and transferring to shipping.Responsible for assembling and/or producing products according to detailed manufacturing processes. Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides central leadership and coordination for manufacturing operations within the Strip Polishing department.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert in the Box & Weigh processes.
  • Assembles various materials into subassemblies or finished products using appropriate tools and equipment, in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records/documentation related to work in progress.
  • Assists with in process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished products.
  • Advises production supervisor of line issues.
  • Notifies supervisor when tools or equipment need maintenance or repairs.
  • Labels and/or paints products.
  • Packages and labels product according to manufacturing specifications.
  • Oversee and coach associates through basic performance problems
  • Coordinate and lead day-to-day activities in the production manufacturing area as necessary, in alignment with immediate or direct supervision.
  • Responsible for delivering departments outputs daily for assigned shift
  • Monitor assigned area and reallocate resources as necessary to meet schedule requirements within the department.
  • Collaborate with Supervisor on all department performance and operator issues, coordinating priorities with other shift Leads.
  • Train New personnel in the area.
  • Support projects and validations as needed.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of the department.
  • Prepare weekly staffing plan for the area.
  • Order Raw Materials to warehouse as needed.
  • Leads Crossover meetings.
  • Promotes a safety focused culture and the Good Saves program within their Shift.
  • Ensures that employees within shift are adhering to GMPs, GDPs and acting in accordance to their process specifications.
  • Reports any associates who are not behaving in accordance with the J&J established policies to the Line Facilitator or Manufacturing Manager as applicable.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities.  Create and actively pursue a team-based, non-threatening environment designed to promote teamwork and open exchange of ideas.
  • Demonstrates consistently effective job performance that encompasses good quality and quantity of work, and dependability.

  2. Cure needles to specified requirements.
  3. Train associates to box and weigh needles.
  4. Weigh count and box all needle types.
  5. Label, disposition, and release needles.
  6. Transfer needles to shipping.
  7. Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  8. For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  9. Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  10. Performs other duties assigned as needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (BOXING ONLY)

  1. Weigh count and box all needle types.
  2. Label, disposition, and release needles.
  3. Transfer needles to shipping.
  4. Train associates to scan/screen needles.

Befähigungen

Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4-6 Years’ Experience in production/manufacturing preferred
  • Box & Weigh experience across all product types (PS and Cardio needles) is preferred
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and management
  • Work in team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.
  • Use test equipment (Starett Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope, etc) where applicable.
  • Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, etc.)
  • Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE’s), if applicable
  • Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.
  • Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
  • Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic
  • documentation).
  • Consistently meet required Training due date targets.
  • Assist process engineers/facilitators in trouble shooting, process improvement activities.
  • Participate in EHS program.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed
  • Computer knowledge is required: Associate must be able to perform all functions of the job by using CIM, and Ethicon computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.

  • Basic math skills:  add, subtract, multiply, divide.
