Johnson & Johnson’s Corporate Communication team is seeking a high-energy, organized, and creative Manager, Corporate Social Content to take ownership of planning, creating and publishing content for our corporate website, News Center and portfolio of social channels. The selected individual will be part of a high-performing, innovative and engaging social media team and will be responsible for protecting and strengthening the reputation of Johnson & Johnson as the world's leading health care company throughout the rapidly changing media environment.
Candidates must have experience creating and executing against an editorial vision, as well as planning and managing editorial schedules, specifically with a focus on balancing short-term, timely content and long-term brand-building campaigns and messaging. We are also looking for demonstrated success in creating compelling content using multimedia formats – including written, visual, and video formats. We are seeking someone who can lead and manage the process of creating engaging, effective social content that tells our stories, inspires sharing, and helps our company build relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate may have a journalism or newsroom background with experience managing a news organization website and social media presence.
This position will report to the Director, Corporate Social Media who has responsibility for the development of corporate social media strategy, planning and operations. The primary focus of this role is to partner with corporate communication, business groups and agency partners to create a steady cadence of daily content for a variety of online and social channels, as well as design and drive integrated programs/campaigns that engage critical stakeholder groups to enhance our corporate reputation.
Specifically, this individual will be responsible for: creating and overseeing an integrated editorial calendar and ensuring a steady stream of content for our corporate website and social media channels, such as blogs, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube; identifying, creating and/or editing content that advances our key initiatives and messages, showcases unique stories and individuals, and successfully engages our stakeholders; monitoring social and conversational trends to ensure that our content is timely and contextual where appropriate; building and maintaining cross-functional relationships with other organizations and brand teams to collaborate effectively on campaigns and content topics that drive reputation; setting metrics and providing readouts against success factors, including evaluating the performance of content over time to measure success and adapt strategies and tactics as necessary.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Journalism or related area is required; MBA, Master’s degree or business acumen is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Communication or Journalism role and excellent interdependent partnering skills are required. Understanding of media perspective and operations is preferred along with demonstrated record of using public relations to drive results. A minimum of 2 years of experience with social and/or digital media within a business setting is required. Strong knowledge of primary social platforms (ie, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) and emerging technologies required. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including ability to produce compelling written, visual and video content required. Sound judgment and understanding of social norms and etiquette required. Proven success managing multiple projects at once, working quickly and meeting deadlines required. Personal integrity & Credo-based values are required. This position may require up to 15% travel and will be located in New Brunswick, NJ.
